Stayed at this hotel while attending conference at the Hilton a few blocks away. Large and well kept room. Small but functional fitness center. Great location for downtown adventures. Parking is valet only and expensive - try not to have a car.
A very functional hotel. Everyone was very nice and accommodating. I left something valuable in my room and they could not have been more attentive to the loss and when found immediately returned it to me. It needs a bit of updating but I will...More
It was close to the marathon and also many of the attractions in town. I hardly ever eat in a hotel but would recommend "The Swine" for happy hour. The staff were very friendly, every time we walked up to the hotel some opened the...More
This hotel has a nice downtown location, which is great for walking around, but not great for parking...You can pay to have valet, in-and-out service, but in the future, I would probably stay out of downtown so that I can access my car myself. The...More
The Paramount is a lovely, modern hotel near the Portland Art Museum and Pioneer Place. The staff is friendly, helpful, and professional. (For example, our concierge James explained changes in airport shuttle service and gave us excellent advice about getting to the airport.) Our room...More

Thank you for your question. The guest who posted the review about bugs stayed in room 1101 and the photos she sent us were of carpet beetles and have been treated. Hotels live in fear of bed bugs and because we do, we train our cleaning staff and managers to always be on the lookout for signs of them. I am able to personally inspect most rooms where we have received complaints and have not found a bed bug in a room in the last few years. When we get a complaint, we quarantine the room and start a very thorough process of searching. If nothing is found, all linens and pillows are put in the dryers as an extra precaution as the heat will kill anything and then we bring in a pest control company to re-inspect and then treat the room as an additional precaution. If something is found, we bring in a company which will essentially put all the room contents in a hot box and superheat it for a day.
If you have concerns, you should always address them with the hotel immediately. It is equally important to us as I’m sure it is to you that we are bug free. Please feel free to contact me directly if you have further concerns.
The MAX is the deal here. At $2.50 or $1.25 if you are 62+ you can't beat it. Take the RED LINE to downtown and get off at the Galleria/SW 10th ave stop. Walk one block east and two blocks south along Director's Park to the... More

Walk one block east and two blocks south along Director's Park to the hotel. It takes about 40 minutes but you get an interesting tour of Portland. Drop by The Swine on the way to the front desk and say "HI" to Joe the bartender. If Ed the "Host" is on duty say "HI" shake his hand and he might give you a bag of goodies. Nice folks.
