The Inn at Northrup nails the retro feel without it coming off as just a gimmick. I chose this place after finding them online because of the decor in the rooms and the great reviews. I sorted by new to make sure that I was reading people’s experience since dealing with covid. It checked all of the boxes for me when hotels everywhere else are charging an arm and a leg due to everyone wanting to get out of the house to take a vacation. When I say that it feels authentic I mean that there are little place cards in each section of the rooms answering questions that you might think of during your stay like needing dish soap and sponges or what to do if you might need more towels. Even down to the features on the fancy alarm clock and pull out bed. It’s a continental cold breakfast of course, but that’s all that we really needed before setting out for the day to explore the city and surrounding areas. I’m not trying to sugar coat everything. I’ve read reviews that go years back about parking in the back with break ins, but I saw the cameras set up on the corners of the building. I’ve had my car broken into years ago when an ipad had been sitting out just to stop for a 15 minute break. Removing temptation obvious helps lower your chances, but nothing is ever guaranteed. I was satisfied with the parking. The only minor negative thing I will say that was mentioned in other reviews is that the channel guide doesn’t work. I only watched tv after dinner as we were unwinding for the day, but I had the hardest time even figuring out what show I was watching without it. There wasn’t any option to stream Netflix etc… I wasn’t too bummed though. Overall though, we would definitely love to stay again on our next visit.

Hotel's Favourite
We have stayed at many places in Portland and Northrup Station is by far the best. This will be our home when we visit Portland. There was not a single detail missed and the whimsical artistic touches made the stay even more special. Quiet, comfortable, clean and a staff that goes beyond what expected.

This was the perfect location and had great restaurant and bar options in walking distance. The suite was laid out well and while we didn’t have time to cook in the kitchen it was great to have everything we could have possibly needed for that. The customer service was outstanding as was the locally sourced complimentary breakfast. New home base for all visits to Portland. Oh and the bed was heavenly… you just sink into it to watch one or both of the televisions in the room. Awesome pick!!!

Really enjoyed this unique place full of beautiful, colorful design details. Thoughtfully appointed, comfortable, conveniently situated, and efficient check-in and out. Thought parking might be a pain, but there was plenty, no extra charge.

Be sure you are aware of their policy regarding external firms like Booking.Com when it comes to refunds, etc. Book directly through the hotel’s main desk…don’t use an alternate fir or you could loose out if your plans change.

Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to post a review. We hope you enjoyed your stay and found the room comfortable. Yes, so when booking and paying through a third party as you mentioned, they are the only ones able to process a refund to your credit card. We can adjust things on our end with regard to the room and availability but since we do not receive your card number we are unable to process a refund for those particular reservations. In this case, we have done everything we can on our end so that when Booking.com is contacted they should be able to swiftly refund your payment. Kindly, Misty
