The suite with full kitchen and private deck is the best my husband and I have ever experienced. Very comfortable, quiet, close to public transportation and within walking distance of great restaurants. Breakfast was tasty, fast, self service. This is our go to place whenever we are in Portland.

Thanks for your review! The patio rooms are definitely a lot of fun when the weather permits for a glass of wine and some peoplewatching in the evening. Our staff always loves the summer season because we get to host so many more families and groups using those patios and the full kitchens for get togethers. Hope you found some new favorite restaurants out around the neighborhood - come back any time! :-) -Jordan

We stayed one night over Labor Day in a king suite. What an incredible deal! The room was very clean and we loved having the full kitchen and sitting area! Location is excellent, and although we had free street car tickets, we ended up just walking everywhere in the great weather. Staff were very courteous, helpful, and made check in and check out easy, with minimal contact. We also really appreciated the free off-street parking! Thank you for all the little treats and thoughtful items in the room (masks, sanitizer) to make us feel like you really cared about keeping us safe. The roof terrace was lovely, and next time we will definitely book a room with a balcony and stay longer. I would definitely recommend this hotel! Even during the pandemic, we had a great time in Portland.

This is a great, small-size hotel in the NW section of Portland, close to many bars, restaurants and shops. Rooms are very spacious, with full kitchen and sitting area. Bathrooms are a little small though. There is a full breakfast offered each morning, and ice cream sundaes on Sunday (yum!). Hotel staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The ONLY downside - my shower on Sunday AM was a little cold (I'm thinking everyone else was showering at the same time), but I can handle this for a great hotel experience.

Thank you for staying with us and for your review! We are delighted you enjoyed your stay at our boutique hotel and your time exploring our Northwest neighborhood. Oh that's great you were able to join us for Sunday Sundae's and we have fun putting that together for our guests. I'll be sure to pass your kind words along to the staff. About the water issue you mentioned. So your feedback prompted a discussion with the management team here at the hotel and I learned there are 5 large water heaters for the hotel. Most of the time it's no problem getting the hot water to all the guests and the only time this happens is when we are sold out the evening before and then it's likely a time the following day when a lot of guests are all showering at once. We will discuss more about possible solutions and appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back on a future visit to Portland and until then, take care! Kindly, Misty

We had a weekend of beer touring and family time planned and this hotel ended up being the perfect spot for us. We appreciated the spacious room, comfortable king sized bed, extra seating, and the high-mounted shower head (we are tall). The continental breakfast had local name brand food like Tillamook cheese and yogurt. Their bagels tasted like they were fresh from a local shop. The lobby coffee was a fancy machine and local beans yielding the best tasting hotel coffee outside of Italy. In a quiet neighborhood, walking distance to a few restaurants and a grocery store. Easy access to downtown and the freeway. Free parking and on the light rail/bus line. We would definitely stay here again.

I opted to return to the Inn at Northrup Station after staying there nearly 10 years ago. It was still great! Even during COVID times they managed to offer tasty, simple local breakfast options for take away, including packaged boiled eggs. The room is comfortable and well-appointed, including a well-equipped kitchen with a reasonable set of tools. We're so used to be being frustrated when trying to cook, so this was a nice surprise.

This hotel is a treat. Colorful walls, furniture and art are everywhere. Our room came with a complete kitchen (even a dishwasher and a full-size refrigerator) and was nicely stocked with everything you'd need for cooking. Comfy bed, two TV's, complimentary breakfast, free parking. Walking distance to anything you need. Tickets for the streetcar with a pickup spot right by the hotel was fun. A truly wonderful place to stay.

We enjoyed our stay here very much! So much so that we booked an extra two nights. We stayed on the top floor in a king size room that over looked Lathrop St. Room was equip with full size fridge, oven, microwave, keurig and all plates/cups/pans/cutlery etc (was delightfully surprised by this). The bed was sooo comfortable and I slept so well! There is a bit of traffic noise but we were used to that from where we live at home. We just turned the fan on low and it drowned everything out. The shower had great water pressure too. The room is very vibrant with an array of colors and creative design, we thought it was so fun! There are also two tv’s which was a fun surprise too. Breakfast is included with your stay and is a great selection of various pastries, fruit, yogurt, cheese etc. OH and there is plenty of free parking on premise, what a bonus! This is an affordable room with great ammenities! We have found our new spot to stay when we come to visit my brother! Highly recommend!

This was a wonderful hotel experience. The staff had excellent customer service, the lobby and rooms were clean, and the room was amazing. The room we stayed in had a full kitchen with all the dish ware and only lacked a washer and dryer to make it perfect. We loved sitting on the patio to have our breakfast with our children. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting the Portland area.

My wife and I have been going to the Inn @ Northrup Station for the last few years when we spend time in Portland. The place is well set for walking and public transportation to the best part of Portland. It is also at walking distance from Forrest park, which is great for hikes and mountain biking.
I love the 70's decor and each room feels like a studio, with very comfortable beds (we are very picky about the bed) and a full kitchen. On our last visit we were finally able to take advantage of the common outdoor deck and have take out dinner.
Staff is very friendly. The place is immaculate. Breakfast is average but offers pretty much what one needs; there are so many awesome cafes close by anyway...
The place is also very accessible from the train station if you plan to ride the train to Portland.

We really enjoyed our two nights at this property. We were there in July over two incredibly hot days (temps hit 100 degrees outside), but we were kept nice and cool in our room. We had wisely booked a first floor patio room and were able to enjoy that for morning coffee & evening wine (after it cooled down enough). It was great having a full kitchen and a sleeper sofa for our daughter. Free parking was a huge bonus not only for the cost savings but how easy it was to go in and out if needed. Though there is so much within walking or streetcar distance (another perk is the free passes to ride) that you don't need a car for anything local. The only negative for us was that there was some mold in the shower. Also saw housekeepers cleaning rooms with masks pulled down which I believe goes against current pandemic safety protocols (we opted to not have our room cleaned during our stay, which I believe should be the norm during these troubled times). The room rate was very reasonable for what you get and all the staff were friendly and helpful. If it weren't for just a few tiny things I would rate The Inn at Northrup Station five stars. I believe it is one of the best places to stay in Portland especially if you'd like some extra space and to be a little bit away from the busier downtown area.

Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to share your feedback! We are delighted you enjoyed your stay and felt cool and comfortable in your suite. Yes, the ground floor patio suites are wonderful this time of year with the table and chairs and we are glad you had the opportunity to enjoy the time outside when it was cooler! We really appreciate guest feedback and I'm hoping you let our team know about the mold in the shower so we can be sure to attend to the issue. If you didn't, may I ask that you reach out to let us know which room you stayed in and we will promptly take care of the issue (you can email manager@northrupstation.com). Also, I have taken this opportunity to connect with our housekeeping supervisor to have a team meeting to make sure to remind everyone they should always wearing their masks. This is the first I've heard it mentioned so I believe it is an isolated incident. Again, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and we hope you had a wonderful visit overall and safe travels home. Take care! Kindly, Misty

Hey Rebecca! the Japanese Garden is only about 2 miles from us. If you're visiting in the warmer months, you can actually walk down to one of the trailheads for Washington Park and hike up into the garden from our hotel. You can also get their by transit like you'd mentioned, or a short drive! Hope you get the chance to check it out, it's really a beautiful spot! -Jordan

I am sure you can. They were very accommodating with us. But since we drove our ca we opted to leave them in the car while we walked the city. Obviously a quick call to the front desk will verify that.

What's the easiest way to get there from the airport?
Answer from Inn at N
Hi there, There are quite a few options for getting to our hotel from the airport. Radio Cab offers a "Radio Flyer" special, offering rides from Portland Airport at the flat rate of $33.50. You can book this in advance by giving them a call at 503-227-1212. Uber and Lyft also pick up from the airport, so it's worth checking those as well! We do have a parking lot that is complimentary for our guests if you were planning to rent a car (I-84 West takes you straight from the airport to the area of our hotel), and we're accessible via public transit as well! Feel free to give us a call at 503-224-0543, we'd be happy to send you specific directions for your preferred method of commuting!
