This place is very good on a budget, you won't find any other hotels downtown at this price. $10 a night extra to park a car, and continental breakfast is either toast or a bagel with coffee and orange juice, but you're staying in Portland, so brunch is cheap and you have a dozen options nearby.

Good location (walking distance around town), friendly staff, clean/comfortable enough. If you're not planning on being in the room outside of sleeping and showering, then it's a fine option. It's essentially what you would expect from an Econo Lodge.

Conveniently located in SW Portland, in walking distance for all of downtown amenities. The rooms were very clean, and although on a busy traffic part of town, was very quiet in the rooms. The TV in my room was new, and didn't function properly, so both of the owners came to my room to get it working properly! Loved that... More

I am so happy that we got the frozen CC screen off your TV. I really appreciated your patience with that! Thank you for your kind words regarding our property. We look forward to seeing you again soon! More

No surprises. We were looking for a bed in Portland and TA turned up the Econo Lodge. A classic old Motel, (think Howard Johnson) located in the vicinity of the University. We arrived at 10am in the morning and Ricky, the amiable Manager, said no problem you leave your bags and come back at check in time. That gave us... More

We stayed here for two days before traveling around the Pacific Northwest. Couldn't believe the prices of some downtown Portland hotels, so I picked the Econo Lodge as it was the only one I could (sort of) afford! I really wanted a place downtown without spending a fortune. The location was perfect for my boyfriend and I, but we're in... More

I always struggle to review motels - it mostly seems to be you get what you pay for. But here, as other reviewers has said, you get a really warm, helpful reception. Lots of information on the city, nothing too much trouble. It is 5 min walk to get the street car which will take you all round the city... More

The facility is exactly what you would expect. OK room, pretty clean. Nothing special about the room. Staff was excellent. Young lady that checked us in was super helpful about where to go and how to get there. Had trouble with wi-fi after office was closed and expected to not be able to log in (I use Linux). It was... Firstly the good. The staff were very helpful and informative, knew alot about the area. Went out of their way to provide a crib. The breakfast was simple but good enough. The bad, even at a cheap (for DT Portland) $115 p/night it felt expensive for the condition of the place. It was clean enough but some serious maintenance needs... More

Thank you for your kind words regarding our staff. We have 19 rooms and 11 parking spots, but with blocking our driveway(which the City is ok with) and parking on the grass, we are able to accommodate most of the time. Street parking is available, but if they are quick to give you a ticket if you are parked past... More

If you are searching for the Waldorf Astoria, keep looking. But if you want a place that is reasonably priced, very clean, and conveniently located and has the most-welcoming, warm and helpful receptionist/innkeeper you will ever find, hurry here. Rita is wonderful, she knows just about everything, and her recommendations are spot on. Ask for room 204 with a king... More
