We flew to Portland with bikes. We were able to put our bikes together here, have a place to stay and help from the host to find somewhere to eat and pack up. We are very grateful to the host for allowing us to store our bike boxes and for the tools to put our bikes together. We would surely return!
This was a last minute reservation after 7pm when I had no hope . Chris is an amazing host. He got me in late , gave me a great deal on the room and let me stay few hours after my check out as my flight was delayed. The place is peaceful , very clean and the area is close to everything you want in walking distance. I highly recommend this place and I would Absolutely stay here again. Love it and thanks again Chris , you are amazing.
Stayed at the FBGH for 25 nights and couldn't have been more satisfied with the experience. Chris squeezed me in at the last minute after another AirBnB host tried to pull a fast one on me one day before i was due to arrive in Portland... should've just booked here in the first place! Stayed in both quad-share and twin-share rooms and everything was in place for a most pleasant experience. Priced well, everything works as it should and the guesthouse experience of meeting and mingling with fellow travelers can't be beat. Perfect choice if you're travelling with a bike especially with- *Clean, comfortable facilities & laundry room available for your use *Lockable storage for your bike, plenty space for bike box/bags *Work stand and work bench for you to wrench/pack your bike *Great location in NE Portland... minutes to everything and short ride to downtown *Coming to the UBI? (1 min stroll away), you SHOULD stay here, it's a no-brainer.…
Stayed here while going to UBI, Chris and his wife are awesome people. Super inviting space and vibes. Nice accommodations for nice living. Props to Chris for returning my rental bike for me when I couldn't, due to my own lack of planning. Sorry the review took a while but I didn't forget you guys :)
UBI is less than half block away via alley, so if you're attending bike school, this is most convenient. My private room was clean, functional, and a good value. During a week stay, there was almost no kitchen use and little bathroom competition on the upper floor. Grocery store is within walking distance. This is a hostel - not a hotel, so I'm leaving the "service" rating blank. I never did meet owner Chris, most likely because I was either in class or on a wonderful Portland bike trip. But his phone number is posted and maps and books in the living area were a very nice touch.
