Although I am a local, at times I want to stay in a neighborhood where I'm attending a dining event. Bluebird Guesthouse is only a block from the top-rated Ava Gene's, and close-by to Block+Tackle/Roe, Pok Pok and more. I made a same-day reservation when it looked like we were in for a rare snowstorm and I wanted to make...

Now here is a place. Amid all the identikit hotel rooms the world over, this conversion of a charming house is beautifully done and oozes character while it is located on trendy Division Street in Portland so is very handily placed. The breakfast is a help yourself job with strong coffee (Starbucks and company take note), the shower is located...

I have traveled all over the United States. And I have found the Blue Bird Guest House the best secret in Portland. The house is Very homey and clean and quiet. If I had my choose to stay in a five star hotel or the Blue Bird, I would choose the Blue Bird. I visited from Charleston and stayed for...

The Bluebird is an older house located in a busy Portland neighborhood. The house is in good condition but is pretty basic -- nothing luxurious. The same can be said for the rooms. I stayed in the Beverley Cleary room upstairs and facing the street. The room was reasonably clean and everything was in working order. The bathroom was small...

It's okay that they email you the access code to the front door, you can come and go as you please. Yummy muffins for breakfast. Fun to sit and talk to the other guests in the dining room. Love the old house. A delicious late night margarehita pizza at the Italian place a couple of doors away. Can be difficult...

I love this place!!! The rooms were very clean and the whole place had a very laid back feel. The Bluebird is a very quaint house right in the Division district of Portland surrounded by restaurants & bars, but very quiet and peaceful. The service was excellent and low key (in a good way) - we only saw one other...

We stayed here for the location as next to some good restaurants and being in a nice neighbourhood. We enjoyed eating in the area- pok pok. Artigiano, salt and straw. We chose the cheapest room. It's quite stuffy and basic but was fine for our purposes. Didn't get disturbed by noise above- would have been more convenient if toilet on...

We stayed on a Wednesday/Thursday/Friday. Lovely older home on Division, close to Hawthorne and still far enough away to be quiet. The price was great- only about $250 in total. There was no "check in" station or greeter. Instead we got a door code through email and an open bedroom with a welcome letter and a key in the lock....

This guesthouse is tucked away on a small property on Division St in SE Portland. It is not the traditional B&B as there is no one preparing breakfast for the guests--they are on their own though bagels and muffins, coffee and tea are available. (First one in the kitchen turns on the coffee.) People feel free to buy food, store...

I have to disagree with Homey Haven. I stayed in the Beverly Cleary room and even with earplugs it was very difficult to sleep because of the street noise. They should really put double glazed windows in that room. If you are a heavy sleeper, it would be perfect; otherwise maybe try a room not facing the road. The room...
