Stay Report - 2/6 to 2/7
Location: The hotel is located in the Lloyd District next to the Lloyd Center Mall which is currently open. The hotel is also right next to the MAX Light Rail which does run to PDX (though be advised the PDX station is closed, you have to get off at the penultimate stop and take a shuttle bus, I suggest a $20 Uber). You can easily walk to a liquor store, a Safeway and a bunch of restaurants which are doing takeout. The area seems very quiet and safe.
Hotel: The hotel is a massive concrete hulk that dominates the area. It has a large lobby which usually has event space that's currently closed. Speaking of closed, all restaurants save a tiny coffee shop and a very limited room service menu are closed. There's an outdoor pool which is open in summer months and a fitness center currently open by appointment. Do note the hotels front doors are locked at all times and require key card entry or being buzzed in.
Check In: Really friendly and helpful staff thanked me for my Diamond status, gave me bottles of water and cookies and were overall very nice to interact with.
Room: I'd paid for a larger king room with balcony and was moved to a higher floor with downtown view. The room was a little dated and had a lot of dead space but I appreciated the couch and desk and found the bed very comfortable. There are outlets next to the bed, there were no Wifi issues and soundproofing is okay not great. I was a little annoyed at the tiny bathroom and was surprised there was no fridge.
Breakfast: Diamonds get $15 credit at the coffee shop which covered a breakfast sandwich and two coffees.
Overall a good option for Portland especially if you don't mind being away from downtown.

I stayed here for several nights for an event being hosted at the hotel. I will say that the 7th floor room was very quiet and the heater definitely works. Front desk and housekeeping staff were very friendly. Walkable to Safeway and some great restaurants, but I wouldn't have gone after dark without my partner, as the neighborhood is very deserted and a bit sketchy. Convenient to public transit.
The room was acceptably clean, but very outdated. We did not get a group rate, but got the AAA rate, and the value for money was very poor: $160+ tax for a queen room with no fridge or microwave. Although these items are available on request, they were not available on this busy weekend, and I'm not sure where we would have put them in the tiny room anyway. I was surprised how small the room was and it was definitely in need of some upkeep. I don't recommend it for more than a day or two if you are two people and have luggage. The paint was chipping, there was actually tape on the ceiling and walls in some places. Furniture and walls had stains. We asked for daily housekeeping, and the linens frequently had holes (towels and bedding). No fitted sheets on the bed, just two flat sheets with a duvet in between. Terrible pillows with no loft. Our bathroom shower leaked because the door doesn't shut tightly and the guard in one of the far corners is bent.
We never had breakfast in the hotel, because who wants to pay for breakfast when your room is overpriced and the grocery store is a short walk away? We did eat at the restaurant for dinner one night and it was acceptable, but staff should take more care to ensure that glasses are clean. Water glasses had greasy fingerprints on them from multitasking staff.
We would not stay here again even if the event is held here. There are places that are far better value for money just a short transit ride away.

This hotel is relatively close to the convention center, but about two miles from downtown Portland. We walked to downtown, going through a transition neighborhood. On the North side entrance, the neighborhood appears poor, but it’s nice on the South side street which runs onto the convention building. The hotel itself is nice, but one gets a strange vibe in that one needs to a card to enter the lobby or else they need to ring you in. However, once one gets in the hotel is fine. Service at check-in and at the bar is good. Not a luxury hotel but has normal hotel amenities. As usual, the doors are sealed after being disinfected. The rooms are also fine - everything needed seems to be there and the floor design is efficient.

Reserved room with Queen sized bed, bed was NOT a queen. Called to alert staff about issue and was told that is the Queen bed for this hotel. Asked to be upgraded to King bed (offered to pay difference) was told they had no King rooms available, but all online sites showed 3 king rooms available. No working vent in bathroom, water pressure in shower was poor, not to mention the hairs that were left in shower.

I traveled to PDX for work and chose to stay at the DoubleTree Hilton in downtown Portland. The hotel's appearance was impressive and easy to spot. Despite driving with my family, I appreciated the proximity to public transportation, especially the train to PDX. The Hiltons app allowed for convenient online check-in with a digital key, even for parking. My room on the 11th floor had a requested balcony, providing an incredible view of downtown Portland. The balcony was small, suitable only for standing. The spacious room featured two queen beds, a microwave, and a mini fridge. Initially, the TV remote had a low battery, quickly replaced by a call to the front desk. The main restaurant in the lobby was under renovation, but an alternative was available. Food was a bit pricey, leading us to explore other dining options nearby. Unfortunately, the hotel bathroom seemed aged compared to other DoubleTree Hiltons I've stayed at. The toilet had a persistent dark ring, and the bathtub was clogged. The bathroom door also displayed unclean streaks. A drawer of snacks posed confusion, but the front desk clarified they weren't included with the room. I worried this might indicate overall cleaning oversights. Despite a "do not disturb" sign, housekeeping knocked early one morning, raising questions about privacy. I inquired about late checkout, learning I had to wait until the day of departure for a decision. An early morning message granted a 2 PM checkout and requested pictures of room issues for their cleaning crew. The hotel's location was convenient, both for my work travel and dining options outside. However, I'm uncertain about rebooking due to cleanliness concerns.

Checked in our hotel 6/26. Went up to the room with my wife and kids. My wife started to give me kids a bath while I went down stairs to get few snacks from the market. I come back up and I'm not able to get back into my room. Keys stopped working. Luckily my wife and kids were still inside so they opened the door for me. I get into the room and my wife tells me a few minutes ago a random guy walked into our room with some girl while my kids were getting a bath and getting cleaned up. My wife confronted them asking them how and why they're in our room. They said that's the room number they were given by reservations. Makes sense why my keys were deactivated. Front desk called me to confirm who's in the room because they somehow made an error. They said they'll bring new keys up to us right away. 20-30 minutes later no keys and no baby crib we requested at Check-in. Now I'm getting a mad that they allowed some strangers into the room, usually we always lock the room unless one of us steps out so that way they can get back into the room using a keycard. Just be aware and always lock your room. We checked out and left the hotel.

This was our second ‘date’ with DT Portland Mulnomah. We may have trouble pronouncing the street name but the people who staff this hotel make you so comfortable you forget all about addresses.
This hotel offer OUTSTANDING value for money and unexcelled hospitality. Eight nights and we could’ve stayed longer. Natalie (Sales & Catering) keeps the meeting space hopping and the event we attended - ValenTango was flawless from a participant perspective. Garth, Tom, Collette and so many others made us feel so very much at home. And thanks to the chef for our custom-made veggies. We’re ready to go back - and soon.

almost didn't book this hotel because of the negative reviews and I'm so glad I did!
The hotel is in a good location, it's a huge hotel and parking is on the same block not across the street like some of the reviews stated. Yes there is a $27 parking fee but all the hotels charge parking fees. I can see how that would be a problem to you if you do not have a car and I don't know if they waive the fee if you don't.
Our room was clean and huge! The beds were clean and comfortable. We had a view of the city on the 7th floor and it was amazing from our balcony. The staff is friendly and accommodating and check in and out was super easy.
This isn't the Ritz and you cheapskates who want it all on a budget need to either pay more money and stay somewhere else or quit being so nit-picky. Yes, the carpets are not new and yes you might find chipped paint here and there but for the price, it's a good place to stay. I will definitely be staying here again on my next visit to Portland.

Well we stayed here using our Hilton Awards points and it's decent, but definitely needs updating and the lack of in room amenities was lacking. Did not have any items like menus for the restaurants in hotel, no info regarding food or other things to do close by, no mini fridge and not even the normal items like pen and paper etc. our first room had some kind of water leak that was getting the floor wet by the entrance to the bathroom, so went to front desk and the employee was extremely helpful and accommodating as he switched our rooms and also took care of our parking. Beds were comfortable and the extra towels we ordered were delivered to our new room, had great view of downtown Portland. Like I said, place needs some serious updating and deep cleaning, would be nice if they had other amenities but it is quiet and comfortable. They do offer room service and have a coffee kiosk you can get coffee and pastries for purchase at in the morning down in the lobby. And it was an easy drive to the airport from hotel.

This DoubleTree is in a perfect location on the Max Line from the airport to downtown Portland. It is in the Convention district next to Lloyd Center so is a convenient location to go any, central location for any Portland destination. The staff is great, on-site amenities provide everything you need (even with modified schedule during Covid there is food and beverage on site). The rooms are well appointed, clean and comfortable. I always stay here when I am in Portland!

The light rail stops almost in front of the hotel. We have never been concerned about safety here. The tricky part is that, pre-COVID-19, Lyft/Uber were a breeze to get anywhere. Now, I don’t know. There is a car rental on site at the hotel. I don’t recall any added hotel fees.
I would speak to the manager. The hotel “facelift” was taking much longer than expected.
Hello! I do not know if the hotel provides a special transportation service, but you can take the Green line directly to the hotel! The walk from the train station is super quick and the stop is directly outside of the hotel.
My room had only the minibar refrigerator...good for small things
I suggest that you call the hotel and ask those questions. I'm glad you had a favorable experience unfortunately mine wasn't.
