Stay here overnight before catching a flight out of Portland. The hotel was recommended by another hotel in a nearby town. The room was quite spacious and clean and the toiletry products were quite good quality. The reception staff were exceptional and I even overheard them deal amazingly with some quite belligerent customers. If you need to park a car,...

Thank you for staying with us on your overnight. There are so many wonderful things to do and see in Portland that I hope you will return for a longer visit. We are in the process of changing our breakfast food options as well as our seating in the dining area. We realize that more of our guests are choosing...

This is an older building that prides that character as it updates and upgrades to total green status. It is already top notch in location - the Pearl district; staff - the friendliest and most helpful, (especially patient with older patrons); wi-fi - "free" and the speediest I have encountered in 4 other downtown hotels. amenities - continental breakfast, tea...

I love to hear about your favorite places in Portland. So glad you enjoyed Cheryl's! Our corner rooms do offer great views of the city with lots of light streaming in the windows. I hope you will return to see these wonderful corner suites with the newly renovated look. Thank you for being our guest! Warm Regards, Pam

The Mark Spencer is a very well maintained older building. The location is great, near Downtown and the Pearl District with lots of coffee shops and bars close by. The room was very clean and comfortable, the staff was very friendly and my wife and I really enjoyed the coffee/breakfast in the lobby. One night I needed help connecting to...

I always love to hear how much our guests love Portland! Our location is one of the best in town with unique brewpubs, great coffee and interesting shops around every corner. I look forward to having you as our guest once again and thank you for choosing to stay with us. All the best, Pam

We chose the Mark Spencer because of it's location and the kitchenette. We were very happy with our choice. Our room was at the front on the 4th floor. Even with the street cars passing it was very quiet. This hotel is undergoing a renovation but we neither saw nor heard any disruption. We booked a Jr. Queen Suite and...

Thank you for choosing to stay with us! As you describe one of our unrenovated rooms, I can't wait for your return to see the beautiful new guestrooms and public spaces. These areas are being thoughtfully updated with our guests comfort in mind. I appreciate your time in reviewing the Mark Spencer Hotel and look forward to your next visit...

As other reviews say, great location near the Pearl District and two short blocks from Powell Books and lots of restaurants. The room was a comfortable size; none too big, and had good amenities. A good base for exploring Portland

I stayed here for one night after a long drive up from the Bay Area for work. While the location is wonderful, close to Powell's books etc, I found the service and room to be somewhat lacking in quality. I arrived late (around 9pm) and was given a room on the fifth floor. During check in I was told that...

We booked a queen suite in the Washington Place building associated with the Mark Spencer ( all the normal hotel rooms were booked). This suite is located in apartment building with key card access at three points. The room is tiny, literally 15x15 ft room, with a kitchenette. The bathroom is so small, it reminded me of the bathroom in an...

I would like to offer my apologies for our annexed rooms not being as comfortable as you would have liked. While these rooms are not part of the Mark Spencer Hotel, we do offer them to our guests that want this particular downtown location when our hotel is sold out. The annex will also be getting a transformation this fall....

Friendly staff, Large and clean room at a fair price. Loved the area as there were plenty of great bars and resturaunts nearby....and a streetcar stop right outside so all areas of Portland are accessable.

This hotel is in the process of renovating its rooms, and we were lucky enough to stay in one that has been recently updated. The look is modern, clean, and comfortable. I'm so happy you found our new rooms to be comfortable as well as beautiful. We're very excited about the transformation and love it when our guests get excited, too! It's good to hear that noise was not an issue being next to the elevator. We have added extra layers of insulation between each guestroom to reduce the amount of...

I enjoyed reading your review and all the Portland places you found to fall in love with! I'm sure the three of you (pup included, of course!) had a great time exploring the city.
