The Sweet Home Inn is the only hotel/motel in Sweet Home rated by AAA. It's an older motel that has been cleaned up and appears to be a family owned/operated venture.

We checked in and requested two beds. We were given a room in the one-story older section of the motel. It's quite charming actually with hugh hanging baskets of flowers and a freshly painted exterior.

The room itself was clean, but old. It had been upgraded and all the furnishings were new. The bathroom was also old but clean. The room was equipped with a refrigerator, coffemaker, hairdryer and HBO TV.

There is a new 2-story building addition to the Inn and those rooms have balconeys that overlook a shaded creek.

A very nice lake, Foster Lake, is situated at Sweet Home and we had a marvelous day playing in the water with inflatable rafts. For a small city away from the major interstate, Sweet Home has many amenities.

All in all, our stay was pleasant and our contact with the office was fine.

We'd stay here again.

Can't comment on the room or location since I didn't stay there, but trying to cancel a reservation has been an absolute nightmare.

I requested cancellation via email well ahead of the 2-day cancellation deadline for a full refund, but did not receive a response. Knowing that the reservation date was approaching and wanting to avoid any confusion about whether or not I would be charged, I called the next day to confirm that they had received the email, but the phone just rang for several minutes and never gave me the option of leaving a message. So, I followed up with ANOTHER email, again asking for confirmation that they had received my multiple requests for cancellation, and again no response. I tried calling twice more, and again, each time it rang continuously with no answer or option to leave a message.

So, imagine my surprise when I rexeived an emailed invoice for one night's stay (my original reservation was for two nights), and see that they've charged my card for two nights.

I emailed twice more trying to sort this out and again received no response. Noticed this morming that they had refunded less than one night's fee, and called again this morning to try to actually speak to someone to sort it out. Luckily, someone did answer this time, but rather than apologizing for their mistake, she argued with me about how much I had been charged (while I was looking at my bank app showing that I had been charged almost $200 more than she said their records showed), and said that, although I may have sent my cancellation request in advance of the 2-day cutoff for a full refund, they hadn't checked their email until later in the week, so I would still be charged for one night. I made it clear that was not acceptable, and that I expect a full refund. Waiting now to see if they will follow through with that or if I will have to dispute the charge with my bank. Either way, this has taken far too much of my time and effort for something that should have been simple.

My family reunion is in this area every year, and I will steer clear of Sweet Home Inn from here on out. I hope they can get their front office better organized and make customer communication a higher priority.

I am giving the Sweet Home Inn a rare 5 stars from me, because they do exactly what they say they will do and no less. They are an independent motel, not owned by a big chain and one block off the main highway. The rooms are recently updated and clean. The fridge was generous, the bed was comfortable, good shower head and water pressure, abundant hanging baskets of petunias, and colorful sheets. My favorite was the carpeted balcony on the second floor in front of the outdoor entrances. No more early morning suitcase rolling that wakens the entire place. Breakfast was not included. The adjoining properties near the back of the motel were homes with thick vegetation. A gracious receptionist greeted us late in the evening. We were satisfied and recommend this place as an alternative to the corporate hotels.

This is a very clean, quiet hotel with easy parking, easy access to stores and shops, and very helpful and friendly staff. The person who checked me in was expecting me and we had a very pleasant chat when I arrived. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here.

This a great motel. The owner Lena was super nice and friendly. It's clean, the parking lot it smooth and nice if you walk barefoot to go get ice like I did. One of the best things about this place... The sign out from spins. So freaking cool. I will stay here again for sure.

We stayed at the Sweet Home Inn last year for our family reunion and, except for some overbilling, which did get straightened out, it wasn't a bad experience. This year we booked 12 rooms, which got cut to 11, then 10, by the hotel......the day we were to check in, they informed us they only had 7 rooms available for our party and yelled at my 82 year old mother, when she reminded them she had talked to them a few days prior. We were forced to find other accommodations for the 30 people coming in from everywhere and ended up over 30 miles away from Sweet Home. All of this is bad enough, but they turned around and charged us over $700 for canceling.

The grounds are well maintained, and the place looks good from the outside for an older motel. I think the rates were a bit high for what you get at this facility. But I think it's the only game in town. And they know it.

It was adequate for a one night stay. No problem there. I needed to do wash, and they have a washer and dryer available for guests. A plus. Now the not so good.... In the older section (brick walls inside?) it can get a bit noisy. You can hear every conversation happening in the parking lot. But the thing that leaves the most significant impression was the uncomfortable HARD bed. It was a little softer than sleeping on the floor, literally. Also two really skimpy pillows. It did have a fridge, microwave, and tiny screen old-time TV.
