I stayed two nights at the lodge for a wedding, a wonderful experience as far as service and food and I loved the character of the lodge room. I also liked that the bathroom appeared to have a new shower and fixtures in keeping with the vintage feel of the room. HOWEVER, there was only one fairly short towel bar...

Thank you very much for taking the time to tell us about your visit. I want you to know many guests have commented on the need for a shelve or towel rack in the bathrooms. We are in the process of getting a additional shelve approved to be installed. It is a simple fix and we agree with these observations...

Absolutely amazing accommodations for us and our dog. Love the fireplaces in the rooms. Only wish well-behaved dogs staying at the lodge were allowed to be in main sitting areas. The only negative is that the feather beds are way too soft. Not sure if they have other options. May be worth asking? Hotel staff are amazing and always helpful....

A wonderful lodge built during the great depression. Every part of the building including paintings, wall hangings, tables, chairs and more were built locally with local materials. Choose a room facing Mt. Hood for a great view when it is not rainy or snowing. I had visited the lodge twice in the past for meals and wanted to stay overnight....

My husband & friends surprised me with a Birthday getaway weekend at Timberline Lodge. It is the most amazing lodge, it's beautiful & rustic & for those that are not aware the outside of the Lodge was used in the movie "The Shining". The rooms are so cozy & the beds are fabulous with the feather bed & lovely bedding....

This is one of those places that you truly have to see to appreciate. If you're looking for modern luxury and plan on spending your evenings on your phone or computers, then this isn't for you so stay in the city. But if you want to enjoy history and admire craftsmanship, then I'd highly recommend. This lodge tells a story...

We stayed at Timberline for 3 nights in mid-October for our anniversary. The lodge is a slice of history that's been lovingly preserved by philanthropy and dedicated volunteers. We were treated so well by the staff, we totally felt at home. Relaxed in the hot tub in the middle of a huge snowstorm! The food in all the restaurants is...

Perfect location for staying in On Mt Hood. The hotel in itself is so clean and comfortable. The food was very good and hit chocolate a must to try. A bit disappointed as we were there between seasons so most things were closed. Looking forward to a return trip.

We had reserved for two nights, but were glad to pay a $50 cancellation fee to leave after one night. The room crossed the line between rustic and shabby. The bed sagged and was too soft. The armchair padding was almost nonexistent. We could hear the people next door sneeze. Some things would be difficult and expensive to fix like...

The hotel is rustic and relaxing but quite small, kids friendly and surrounded by several restaurants. Stayed here during fall but get to experience the light snow. It was a perfect day for short hike. Everyone are friendly from gift shop personnel, ski management to restaurant people. The only thing can be improve is the restaurant at timberline lodge food...

We stayed at the Timberline Lodge for one night as part of our Pacific Northwest tour. I had high expectations of our visit and it met them and more and remains one of the highlights of our trip. We got there pretty early and had most of the day to spend there - unfortunately all our plans were scuppered. Magic...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Declared a National Historic Landmark in 1977, Timberline Lodge is one of Oregon's most popular tourist attractions, drawing nearly two million visitors every year. Considered an architectural wonder, it's still being used for its original intent-a magnificent ski lodge and mountain retreat for all to enjoy. Timberline Lodge is filled with amazing spaces that beg enjoyment. The main headhouse lobby features three fireplaces at the base of a 90 foot chimney. The outdoor patios offer the most stunning views in Oregon. The outdoor pool is heated and open year round. With so many places to explore all under one roof, you'll feel as if the Lodge is an extension of your guest room. Each room in Timberline Lodge has a unique rustic elegance, yet a modern and comfortable feel. All rooms have period furnishings, artwork and decor. Enjoy fresh powder feather beds, the year 'round heated pool, spa and sauna. Rooms range from premier fireplace rooms to European style bunk rooms. Regardless of which room suits you best, they all share an authentic sense of place found only in one of the Historic Hotels of America. Timberline offers the longest ski season in North America. The winter season typically begins early to mid-November and continues through Memorial Day. Our Palmer Express high-speed quad lift allows us to operate later into the summer season than anyone else (usually through Labor Day). Many years, we're open for fall skiing as well. ... more   less
