Staying at the Westfir Lodge was a fantastic experience in ALL regards. The location: perfect for mountain biking (and other outdoor activities) in and around Oakridge. The amenities: comfortable beds, tasty breakfast (included), and delicious appetizers and craft beer available the afternoon and evening. And the Wesfir Lodge is VERY bike friendly...everything from trail snacks to spare tubes in the gift shop to secure bike storage and a bike wash station right outside. And the best part: they also run their own bike shuttle right from the hotel to all the local hot spots so no need to book with an outside company. Tracy and Noah do an amazing job. Looking forward to returning sooner rather than later.

The Westfield Lodge is just lovely. You feel like you’ve gone back in time, yet no modern convenience is overlooked. Steps away from the Alpine Trail head, and many other epic trails for biking and hiking. This place is a community of adventurers. Noah and Tracy, the owner operators, made us feel welcome, and happily catered to our needs. I love the breakfast of fresh squeezed orange juice, hard-boiled eggs, homemade scones, yogurt, fruit and coffee. The room was cozy and comfortable, and the whole place was super clean. Looking forward to going back soon. Don’t miss this place it’s just awesome!

Spent one night at this lodge. Everything was sparkling clean, plenty of hot water and a decent breakfast complete with pears from the owners orchard. Morning and evening coffee provided. The beds are great. We had a bottom floor room in this old converted lumber barons 'house-office'. The bath was about 7 steps away. It was ours, a private, down-the-hall bathroom… go figure. The owners are super friendly. Our window looked out on a covered bridge. The town probably has less than 500 residents, but restaurants and a grocery store are less than 2 miles away. In Oakridge. Craft beer on tap. Wish we could have stayed longer.

The Westfir Lodge is a hidden gem in Westfir, OR. I lucked upon this lodge while visiting family in the area and ended up staying here a week. The lodge itself is clean, charming and very comfortable. The owners are friendly and resourceful and cook a delicious breakfast. The Office Bridge and trails nearby that run along Deception Creek were an added bonus for enjoying the beautiful scenery. I really enjoyed my stay here and will definitely be back!

I recently stayed at the Westfir Lodge at the trailhead for the Alpine Trail just outside Oakridge Oregon. It is under going a renovation that is focusing on the logging and train history of the area. It was very comfortable and close to all the outdoor activities that the area has to offer. Mountain biking trails start directly across the street (and the North Fork of the Willamette River). The Aufderhiede (sp?) Scenic Byway essentially starts (or finishes right at the Lodge) and is great for road biking or a fun drive. You can't beat this place and the food is really amazing. If you are passing through Oakridge, Westfir or even Eugene you should check this place out.

We have stayed there with a group, and just as the only couple there. We love it there- comfortable, wonderful hosts, sweet dogs, beautiful and tasty breakfasts and the Aufderheide Rd. is fantastic for bicycling. We saw mountain bikers assembling across the street for rides in the hills surrounding. We visited the Salmon Creek fish hatchery, and Salt Creek Falls. Looking forward to the next trip.

My wife and I spent the night at the Westfir Lodge. It was an interesting and educational experience. We booked this stay a couple of months ago with friends who had stayed here many years ago and really enjoyed the experience.

As with all things, time passes. One of the original owners passed away, and the other eventually put the lodge up for auction where it was purchased by an owner who tried to operate the lodge remotely. This continued for about three years with marginal result. The property began to deteriorate as maintenance was not kept up with.

The Lodge was then sold to new owners back in May of this year.

When we arrived, we met a paint covered Chad who apologized for the mess as they had taken the opportunity of the good weather to start the exterior painting of the lodge, one of a list of projects that he and Dawn are in process of completing in order to have the lodge totally remodeled by January of 2016.

Our rooms were comfortable and the stay was enjoyable. We spent much of the time taking a tour of the place and having Chad and Dawn explain their vision for what this B & B will eventually become.

My overall rating of average is an indication of the current state of the lodge during its' renovation. In fact the new owners are not actively marketing the lodge in order to minimize inconvenience to guests.

I have no doubt that when these new owners fulfill their vision, this place will be Top Notch.

We will look forward to returning then.

Hello Todd. Thank you for the review, although I would have liked more stars, I understand. You arrived while we were having the outside painted and it was a mess. I do apologize. Hopefully you will drop in again one day to see the completed projects. Painting, new floors, mattress, wall coverings, whew! We've been busy, thank you for taking the time to review. Safe travels.

This place is a nice mix of historic building and young, dynamic (new) owners. We had a great time with them and we love the fact that they are a bike-friendly place and located right at the bottom of one of the best trails in the US.

Dawn and Chad bought the Lodge in May '15. Now that they have a couple of months under their belts, it seems to be running very well.

It has large rooms and is appropriately decorated in a style that perfectly fits this area.

On the other side of the street is the Office Covered Bridge, an unusual and well-maintained landmark. The lodge is at the trailhead for the Oregon Scenic Byway, a welter of trails for biking and hiking...and right at the beginning of the Aufderheide Scenic Drive through central Oregon. It's a terrific location for outdoor activities.

Breakfast was terrific. And the room rate was very reasonable. Dawn and Chad are considering reopening the restaurant for dinner once their get through their start-up process.

The occasional sound of the long trains rumbling past on the other side of the river was a comforting reminder of days past.

This is the kind of B&B one could choose to return to many times.

Thank you for your review! And my apologies for taking so long to respond! Although no excuse is a good one, we've been so busy updating and remodeling, computer time slipped! We did even open the kitchen on the weekends to serve burgers, sandwiches and woodfired pizza. We hope you stop back through on your travels.

Had our work party at this establishment and it was an amazing facility for our event. The owners were wonderful and nothing was needed to embellish the event because the lodge itself was perfect! Would recommend this to everyone!!!
