Arrived too early and was told that check in time was usually at 3. We were given our room key with little to no direction about beverage needs etc. Would have preferred a little more communication. Have been to B&B's before, all of which had their own historical background as could be seen by the interior design. Mattress and Muffin...

Amazing breakfast every morning, you didn't leave the table hungry and Sharon would send you with a muffin for the day. There are a few antique shops in town within walking distance. You are not to far away from Rickets Glenn state park to hike the water fall trail, or Worlds end state park for more hiking. I enjoyed our...

My husband and I finally had the opportunity go away on our own, read so many great reviews of the Mattress and Muffin, had to find out for ourselves. Our stay was wonderful! Sharon and her husband Dan was all the reviews stated and more. They were friendly, outgoing, and Sharon's breakfasts were great! Loved those peach muffins! We stayed...

Sharon & Dan are a very lovely, down to earth couple, and Sharon's breakfast is out of this world, she does not let you go hungry!!! My boyfriend and I hiked Rickett's Glen (whole 7.2mi), and if you plan on going; make sure you wear good hiking boots, bring water and either lunch or snacks, this is not a simple...

We spent an overnight here with another couple when in the area to hike Rickett's Glen. Couldn't have been happier with the experience. The owners were extremely pleasant and helpful. The rooms were great as well. We had the top two rooms (The Princess Di suite and the Elizabeth Taylor room) and both were great, with very reasonable prices. The...

My wife and I were going to spend some time at Ricketts Glen State Park and then go back to our old college at Bloomsburg. Instead of looking for a hotel in the Bloomsburg area, we decided to check out the Mattress and Muffin B & B in Benton. What a great decision. The room was wonderful with its own...

Our extended family needed a place to stay for the auctioning of my father-in-law's house in Stillwater, and all of the Bloomsburg hotels were booked because it was graduation weekend. So we booked two nights in the Mattress and Muffin B&B, not really expecting very much. After all, Benton is about as small-town as you can get. Boy were our...

We stayed here for a weekend while visiting Rickett's Glen State Park. The B&B is about 15-20 away from the Park and a beautiful drive. The Inn is right on Main St in Benton and an easy walk to some restaurants and antique shops. Sharon is absolutely wonderful! We had breakfast 2 mornings and the food was amazing, especially the...

The couple who runs the B&B were very accomodating and very nice. The inn is nice inside. The exterior needs some sprucing up with a paint job. Breakfast was wonderful and the others guests we meet also made it a special stay. It's a no-brainer to stay here if you're visiting either of the state parks.

Although we were in the area for a funeral, which was a sad event, our stay at the Mattress & Muffin was outstanding. Everything was extremely clean and inviting. We stayed in the Elizabeth Taylor Rose room in the front of the house and early morning and late evening there was barely any noise from the street. The breakfast was...

“If we had realized, we would have driven to the Ricketts Glen Hotel for dinner because it is on the water, and would have given the evening a better ambiance in leiu of retiring back to Mattress & Muffin, but there is always next time.”

“There are trade-offs when choosing a room. The most luxurious is the Princess Di room, but it is right on the main street so you do get some traffic noise. The Elizabeth Taylor Rose room is a little smaller but quieter. I stayed in the Violet room, perfect for one person and the most comfortable chaise lounge I've ever been in. If you want to be near the breakfast table, book the Parrot Tulip room, the only room on the first floor.”
