My wife and I had a relaxing stay at Brandywine River Hotel. Lady at front desk was very helpful, sorry didn't get her name. Bed was very comfortable and the gas fireplace in room nice also. Breakfast was good also. Great location to Longwood Gardens. The reason for four stars and not five is after returning from viewing the lights at Longwood at around 11:30 pm, was looking forward to relaxing in the whirlpool. Come to find out that there was no hot water. Next morning got a shower and water was warm. Found out that the boiler went out. Saw the plumber's truck as we checked out. Also, please upgrade your toilet paper. Thinnest toilet paper I think I've ever seen.

Hotel's Favourite
We stayed in two hotels in this area and this one was by far my favorite! Troy is wonderful and will take good care of you! The rooms are clean and quaint. There is a coffee shop in walking distance and two restaurants.

Stayed for 1 night while visiting Christmas at Longwood Gardens. Conveniently located and easy to get to. Very clean, quaint, and nicely decorated for the holidays. Nice continental breakfast in the mornings and cookies in the afternoon. Definitely recommend.

Clean comfortable and friendly staff. Needs a second waffle iron for breakfast and better posted instructions on how to make a waffle. Great area for antiquing and wineries. Lots of good restaurants and taverns in area.

Our first time staying at the Brandywine River Hotel. My hubby and I were celebrating 35th wedding anniversary. What a nice surprise, the room had beautiful furniture, comfortable bed, fluffy pillows, the staff friendly, continental breakfast had a good variety of things to eat and within walking distance a great Italian restaurant, Antica. My husband and I will definitely stay again!

Friends and I could not have asked for better accommodates than those we enjoyed at the Brandywine River Hotel during a mid week break. Set back from the road and overlooking fields, it was quiet and peaceful. An inviting lobby, spacious rooms, friendly staff (Amy and Troy), and a nice breakfast. Fluffy towels, bath toiletries, a hair dryer, iron, and ironing board were available in each room. The hotel does not served dinner but there are 2 restaurants just yards away.

A jewel. Almost everything you could ask for. ( no microwave in the room but you could use one in the breakfast area; no laundry facility for travelers). Wonderful towels in the room, many bed pillows to choose from. Front desk person was most helpful when we couldn’t figure out the tv controls. Would definitely stay here again when in the area.

I've stayed here a number of times, but this was the first since the pandemic began, and first since the hotel was sold earlier this year. New owners have updated the lobby and dining area - HUGE improvement! Lobby is more modern and very comfortable and overall a much more airy feel than before (which was a bit kitschy). Rooms are still just as good. This hotel is close to just about every major site in the Brandywine area, if you're looking for a nice weekend getaway, this is the place to stay.

The hotel was very nice in a great location cute little place however, there was no room cleaning service even though we left a sign on the door for the maid to clean the room, but this seems to be a trend now with hotels… otherwise, a nice, quiet, comfortable place

Very nice but you can’t check out early! We we going to stay for three nights but several big attractions were closed due to an escaped convict. When we asked to check out a day early we were told we could not be refunded. This was a new experience for me. Other than that the hotel was clean when we arrived but they never serviced the room so we did not have clean towels or coffee etc…
