Two friends and I stayed overnight at the Fairville Inn in connection with a visit to Winterthur and other nearby attractions. The Inn's owners and proprietors, Rick and Laura Carro, were helpful on the phone before our arrival and afterwards in planning our stay, including finding a restaurant for a belated birthday celebration. After two of their first restaurant suggestions...

We found the Fairville Inn to be both lovely and comfortable. The setting is gorgeous and so near all the major (& minor) places of interest in the Brandywine Valley. We were in Carriage House Room 4 on the second floor - it was light, airy, quiet, and spotless(although the windows to the terrace were a bit in need of...

Thank you very much for your lovely review. For future reference, bathrobes are standard in our suites and deluxe rooms. If you forgot yours, we would have gladly provided them without charge. Wine glasses are available for the asking (we had provided them in our rooms, but too many were getting broken or "walking away"). The slight haze affecting some...

We spent Sunday through Tuesday at the Fairville Inn, taking advantage of a Groupon. Good Points: -- Hot breakfast with choice of 3 entrees included -- Afternoon tea with some pastries included -- Room visually appealing -- Helpful staff in making restaurant and attractions recommendation & reservations -- Lovely area with great attractions -- Beautiful setting out the back of...

While we very much appreciate the good points in this review, we would like to briefly respond to the bad points noted. First, as innkeepers, we know that the firmness of a bed is a very personal thing. This comment reminds us of the time when guests told us they thought a bed was too soft and the following guests...

My husband and I recently enjoyed another night at the Fairville Inn. Rick and Laura (and Ozzy the dog) are wonderful hosts -- we feel like family when we are there. The afternoon tea time is fabulous -- cookies, small cakes, cheese and crackers, etc -- and the breakfasts are delicious! We'll be going back to this inn (which is very...

We had booked a room in this inn to be strategically located for a visit to Longwood Gardens and Winterthur. Those gardens are only at a 10 minutes drive, one on the north and one on the south. On our late arrival (after 7 PM) we were graciously greeted by a young lady who showed us our room, located on...

Stayed in the carriage house, bottom floor. Lovely room, beautiful views from our private patio, overlooking the flowers in the garden. Loved the fluffy white guest robes and the property that allowed you to move about it to take in the views. Great breakfast.

Great location, wonderful staff. The Fairville Inn is close to Longwood Gardens, Winterthur Mansion and Hagley Mansion. The room was very clean, housekeeping was prompt and the grounds were well manicured. The staff was welcoming, friendly and accommodating. The Inn-keepers, Rick and Laura were informative about the local cuisine as well as tourist must-see locations. Our favorite staff member was...

We had a very nice stay in the Fairville Inn. We stayed in the Carriage House room #2, upstairs. The room was comfortable and roomy. As in most old inns, the bathroom was dated, but extremely clean. Housekeeping was very prompt and the staff at the inn very helpful and friendly. The location of the inn made it quite easy...
