Even though the pool broke while we were here, I am not leaving a bad review. They let us get a refund for the days we were going to stay here due to pool being broken. I was very happy with how friendly everyone with for the pool debacle. This hotel is in a perfect location between Hershey and Lancaster. The breakfast was good with lots of choices, and they kept it very clean. The hotel itself is very quiet and peaceful. My mother-in-law lost her earring down the drain and the maintenance person went out of their way to take apart the trap in the sink to get her earring. Not many places would go to that much effort to help with something as simple as that.

This hotel is off the beaten path, but the time I did spend here was quite enjoyable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a nice simple hotel in between Lancaster and Hershey. I would stay here again.

When Field of Screams announced that they would be hosting a December event, we definitely wanted to check it out. Traveling during the Covid 19 pandemic definitely has its challenges. From the lack of restaurants and hotels not serving breakfast, we are getting through this one day at a time. With that being said, the hotels are less busy and they should be spending some time doing repairs. For example our room, not only has the room darkening blinds that you can’t close cause they’re bent, the toilet seat is broken also. Housekeeping must be slim pickings. You can see in my one picture the blanket is not even folded it’s just rolled in a ball and thrown on the top shelf of the closet.

Thank you for taking the time to complete our online survey regarding your recent stay at our hotel. On behalf of our entire team, I would like to apologize for failing to exceed your expectations. Your satisfaction is important to us and we will be using the feedback you provided to make improvements to ensure we offer an exceptional experience for our guests in the future. I would like to answer you about: *Housekeepers: because of covid19 they not allowed by our corporation to go inside rooms but only after guest check out. *Your room was 204 which has 3 types of curtains 1- heavy 2- light nylon 3- decoration curtains on window both sides and it is standard in all hotel rooms. *We don't use blankets for our beds but there is big comforter, we keep the blanket there in the room closet to be an extra for our guest in case they use it during their stay on the sofa, also we have to roll it to be fit inside the little rooming in the room closet with the extra pillow. I hope that you will consider staying with us again so that we can have another chance to provide you with a superior experience. Sincerely,

Being the Labor Day weekend we had to choose a different hotel from our usual. It reviewed well with other travelers and I do agree. The only thing keeping this from being a perfect rating was the person at the desk checking us in. He failed to tell us at any point that they are not providing any form of breakfast. We were expecting this and found it a surprise our first morning which caused us to change our plans quickly which in turn ran us late for our morning schedule. With my work I have traveled several times during the COVID situation and all hotels have found a way to continue providing a breakfast to their guests...here they failed to do that in any form yet they continue to advertise this as part of your stay and again their staff did not share this info upon check-in. This person kept your hotel from receiving a perfect rating, this is info every guest should have at the time they check-in.

Worst vacation ever.. Room has musty smell which was not good for my asthma. Free breakfast was coffee and a pre packaged muffin not worth looking at. At $378. for 2 nights I expected more. When we told them we needed more towels we had to go to the front desk to get them. My best friend slipped on the bathroom floor at 4 am and broke her ribs. When I stopped to tell the person at the front desk that we were leaving a day early to take her to the hospital at home he showed no concern for her injuries and offered no help. Also asked to be refunded for the unused night as they were fully booked and people still calling for rooms while I was at the desk. I got the standard answer that they need 24 hrs notice. Sorry I didn't know she was going to fall 24 hrs in advance. The bed cover had blood stains on it under the bottom side which I didnt notice till I was packing to leave. I only wish someone had shared this information before I booked my room. I hope this helps someone from avoiding a bad experience.

We love ChoiceMotels benefits, especially the free breakfast that has always been amazing. The kids always look forward to it.

I realize COVID is in play but it shouldn't restrict the breakfast option, just the seating.

You advertise "HOT" breakfast. What was offered was far from it.

The front desk was asked politely was the only options as we thought we missed breakfast. No apology and rude.

Customers should be made aware of this as many plan on a good hot breakfast.

The rooms and building overall was great and within walking distance of many restaurants.

Than you for taking the time to give us your feed back about the breakfast, I invite you and everyone read this to go online to our choice website and go to our hotel landing page to read the alert we posted since March 2020 which mentioned: Hotel Alert: Some hotel features—including fitness centers, pools, food and beverage, and other amenities—may not be available at this time due to COVID-19. To help protect the safety of guests, employees and visitors, we require the use of face coverings in hotel common areas. For more information, please call your hotel directly. But our swimming pool is opened as well Spa and fitness center also we encourage everyone to use a mask and keep 6 feets away from others. So we don't make any lie, we always invite our guest for the best experience and work hard to meet their expectation.

Immediately upon inspecting the room we returned to the front desk with our concerns. The room was dirty in the corners, the 2nd floor window had no safety lock and a ripped screen that flapped in the wind. The toilet seat was stained and missing supports. Gouges were scratched into the wooden furniture. There were ants in the bed and desk. The bed covers were stained. The pool area had a very high chlorine level that burned eyes upon entering the space. The drain cover sunk into the floor and is a tripping hazard. A huge crack in the window of the pool area looks ominous. Food was left out all day in the bread case in breakfast area (toast left in the toaster).
We were told all of this is normal wear and tear and would not be compensated in any way. The motel was fully booked and no other rooms were available. What would we have found in another room??
After writing to the corporate office days ago, I’ve yet to hear back. However Choice Hotels emails me every day with new, special offers. You’ve been warned!

The worst hotel my family has stayed at. Customer service was horrible. For one when you need extra towels and ask for it, they seemed bothered and do not provide you with one until you “bother them”. Our room smelled like unclean carpet, the air conditioner had mold, and the windows were dirty. The staff looked like they were busy on the computer in the business center and couldn’t be bothered. The reception received was that of inexperienced hotel staff, and they were all too busy to help anyone else.

Very run down. Exterior landscaping should have been a sign! Lobby and room extremely dated, furniture heavily worn. Lighting in the room was almost non-existent. Wood trim mounding lined floor shower where you step in. Bed was bouncy and very old. Area between box spring and headboard was not clean. For almost $200 - this was a terrible experience.

I would not stay in this hotel again. Needed and booked 2 Queen beds. Checked in and found room was 1 King. Went back to front desk and told there were no other rooms available. Room was musty and furniture was in poor condition. Deadbolt on room door did not work. Breakfast was fine, but there were no bowls and milk for cereal.

It is an easy commute (15-20 minutes) and the stay there is well worth it. Everywhere is close with Hwy 30 and the hotel is easy on and off. This is a great stay (see my review) and the staff is there to wait on you. Don't forget about Breakfast. Major Dan
