We stayed overnight into New Year’s Day. The room itself smelled like someone tried to spray perfume on a rat. The shower was refreshing but needs repair. Seems like a struggle to upkeep the place. The pool was closed. The restaurant the following morning was also closed. Not much service to comment on. It was a good place to spend the night because we were tired from an active day outdoors.

The worst place in the poconos ever. Dirty filthy disgusting. Talked to a few of the workers and said they were under construction. The reason why it's such a mess there is because they have been through so many workers for not paying the workers their wages. These people who run this hotel couldn't run a lawnmower let alone a hotel. Dont do it dont stay here. You will regret it. Filthy and dishonest people in all of poconos

This hotel has recently redone the rooms, which were comfortable, but the windows were so filthy you couldn't see out, as were all the glass doors and windows throughout the facility. The furniture in the lobby and hallways looked as though it had been salvaged from dumps, and the lemon water was cloudy and looked very old. Coffee was terrible. Find someplace else if you can.

If you're thinking about staying here, DON'T. There's NO breakfast included, no matter what all the travel sites say and it's absolutely FILTHY. Booked a deluxe room that included breakfast. Upon arriving, I was told they were doing renovations and that what I actually booked was a standard room and there would be no breakfast. W.T.F. I was told that I would be able to upgrade to a newer room on the Clarion side for $15/night. I go online and went to booking websites to see if they had updated the travel sites with these changes. NOPE! I understand a hotel going through renovations but what I don't understand is NOT vacuuming, not dusting, not wiping down, or having enough toilet paper in the rooms. Also, I asked for facial tissue and they told me the rooms weren't supposed to have them. The first room we were put in was probably a hangout for the construction workers because there were pretzels on the ground and food crumbs all over the furniture. The 2nd room we relocated to had a broken a/c unit that when off, it would click and make noises and turn on and off sporadically, the a/c didn't start acting up till 5am. And no, it's below 40 outside, I don't want to leave the fan on as I sleep. Moved to a 3rd room, this is the 4th room I've seen and they're getting progressively filthier. But at this point, I didn't care anymore, as long as I can get some sleep without clicking noises and a fan turning on and off. The last straw for me was that I was on day 3 of my stay and my room wasn't serviced at all this whole trip. I packed up my stuff and went to the front desk to check out early and try to get a refund for the remainder of my stay. Turns out my room was never put on the list to get cleaned. Then they couldn't find anyone staying in my room to be checked out. When she looked up my name, it turns out they moved me to the new side and tried to charge me $40 for it but no one notified me. Not a call to the room, not a paper slipped under the door...nothing. So, I got ready for my friend's wedding in the filthy room watching the maid cart get slowly closer and closer but I guess never to see my room. ps...Monique, the lady at the front desk, is very good at saying things are not her fault. I get it, but maybe you should note my complaints down for management? I can't be the only one, and if I am, I guess I'm a princess for expecting a "standard" room to not have 2 fridges, 1 broken and the other with food stains inside, have toilet paper, facial tissue, and toiletries, cobwebs, and furniture stained like crazy.

This hotel has been in renovation mode for years, but, needing a place to stay for one night, we decided to give it a try again. The staff was wonderful........so gracious. We stayed on the 2ed floor. Everything was CLEAN, new everything, comfortable. We ate breakfast in the adjourning restaurant which was very nice. NO complaints on anything or anyone. In fact, we plan to make future reservations at this hotel, maybe as early as October 2018.

On the outside of this hotel looks shady and run down. But inside of the rooms were a decent size. Room was clean but on the so called balcony there were so many spiders out there. My kids looked up the cieling in the room and there were spiders everywhere near the curtain and the door going out the balcony. Spiders were not the small kinds either. If you have young ones with you especially babies GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! Plus the pool is closed when we got here and will be for sometime because of the "renovation". And also no breakfast. If there were no spiders then I would give this place a 3 stars.

I'd give negative stars if I could. What everyone says here is true. Bates' Motel is cleaner and safer. The night clerk is positively scary and impolite on top of that (you'd think he'd be dying for the business). The rooms, not that mine was unsanitary, but was in disrepair. The breakfast was mini donuts and bad coffee. One of the hallways was covered on mold on the ceiling and floor. A door from the parking lot didn't lock thus anyone could enter the building. Tragedy. Stay anywhere but here-- literally! Pay whatever extra money you can to stay elsewhere, go down the street to New Jersey and stay across the state line, or even sleep in your car at one of the rest areas (I'm not kidding; I'm dead serious). I guarantee you it'd be safer and cleaner.
