Made an online reservation at this property for an upcoming family trip to the Poconos. Unfortunately, there were no special request fields in the IHG system to input room location preferences. For that reason, I reached out directly to the front desk to request a higher floor preference for this stay. At first, they transferred me to reservations but I could not get through to them. Upon calling the front desk again, I spoke to Melissa, who accused me of belonging to a party of individuals who kept calling her that day about various room requests and that she was fed up of dealing with such inquiries. I was stunned! I was baffled in part because I had no idea what she was referring to. I apologized for the fact she was suffering a bad day at work (although I had no need to do so) and proceeded to defuse the situation by requesting that my room preference be kindly added to the reservation to which she rudely retorted that rooms are only assigned on the first day of stay. This is absolutely false from my personal experience at other IHG hotels including Staybridge! I have stayed at the Staybridge chain many times before and even if a request for room location cannot be made online, it is almost always considered by the front desk staff in advance through a notation on the reservation or by other similar means. I am appalled that someone with an attitude and lack of patience and customer service skills like Melissa works the front desk at this Staybridge location. Even if this particular location is not in the habit of entertaining room location or other such requests prior to the start of a stay, there is a way of handling such requests with a certain temperament so as not to be off putting to guests. Such behavior prior to a stay can be quite a telling sign of how this particular hotel treats its guests once they come on site. We will be strongly considering other locations rather than this one even if it means paying more elsewhere.…
I had an issue with my stay back in October and had emailed them on several occasions and did not get a response at all. Manager and staff at the desk were non existent. I'm not sure who checks people in. We got checked in and never was able to find someone there again. Very odd. Rooms were not nice, pool was shut down. Would not recommend or stay here again.
I think some of the review here are unfair. The place is clean, the breakfast is plentiful and the staff is very nice and helpful. Yes the furniture is a bit old, but it’s a staybridge, so I kinda expected that.
I can’t say that my stay was terrible, but I expected better for what it cost. Although my IHG profile has a preference for high floors, I was put on the second floor with noisy people above. I’m assuming the upper floors have long term tenants, as there seemed to be numerous families coming and going. The room appeared clean enough, but we had to move a sofa in order to watch the TV. Under the sofa, we found a fair amount of trash (candy wrappers, plastic cups) . The sofa itself had holes in the upholstery. Breakfast was scant, less choices than the Holiday Inn Express, which was $30 cheaper.
All around good place to stay for a couple of nights. The reason why I initially booked this place was because it’s dog friendly. I have an 8 month golden retriever and she was welcomed there! I don’t know if they have a size limit. The room was clean.. it had a huge refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, plates, utensils, and cabinets. Great for if you’re staying and want to cook a few nights in. The bed was comfortable. Only few things I didn’t like was the shower water wasn’t hot. It was cool/warm. That could’ve been just the day we went so I’m unsure if it’s an all the time thing. The breakfast was also not good. My partner said the eggs were watery when he took a bite in them. I’d definitely come back if I am in the area.
Great location, price, cleanliness, kitchenette. Located right of the exit 308 off I-80, on 209 N, just a few minutes from the Bushkill, Dingmans & Reynolds falls and Delaware Water Gap trails along 209 N. With shopping center on exit 310, and great coffee shops in nice town of Stroudsburg- cafe Duet, and the Cure cafe.
We had a very nice day at the Staybridge in July 2021. We are a family of five with three grown daughters so staying in a hotel that has suite style rooms is very appealing to us. The room is exactly what we needed. Couple minor things that didn’t ruin our stay: the phones to call the front desk we’re not working, and all the channels that were advertised were not accessible on the TV set. Other than that we really liked it and I would recommend it to any larger family who really likes to stretch out a little bit and not be stuck in one room on top of each other.
The room is great! Love the space. But the soundproofing is horrible. I’m not one to complain about normal hotel room noises but our room is actually shaking. It sounds like a herd of elephants are running around in the room above us. And I don’t mean occasionally I mean the whole time I’m sitting here. I understand if there are little kids, but this is ridiculous. They must be jumping off the furniture. And the hotel can’t be built very well if it’s this loud. For the cost I expect better. I would have given 5 stars without noise.
I am beyond disgusted w guest relations at Staybridge Suites in East Stroudsburg, Pa. Our journey began on October 9 at 9pm. When we arrived we were greeted by a front attendant who asked us if we had any pets and we said no. He then stated what about this guy? Referring to my fiance! That statement was disgusting inappropriate and demeaning. We don't pay money to stay at a 4 out of 5 star hotel to get insulted. Stan and Amy managerial staff were notified and we informed IHG group which is the parent company of this hotel. I beyond angry. We were also assigned a case number.
Rm. 416 for 3-nights. 2 Couples. The reason for the 3-stars rating was solely because the rate was very good. Bedrooms are separated by kitchen/sitting area. Lots of room because it lacked furniture! HVAC was excellent (in-room controlled). BR #1: Good size room. King bed. Walk-in shower. Two night tables w/lamps.NO CHAIRS!. No desk. Alarm clock. No plastic cups in the bathroom sink area. BR #2: Larger than #1. Queen bed. Bathtub/shower. One wheeled office chair. Only one night table w/one lamp plus a lamp at the desk. No alarm clock. No plastic cups in bathroom sink area. KITCHEN/SITTING AREA: 2 hi-stools at the counter which juts out and is the only "table" in the unit. Not possible for 4 people to sit at that counter and have a meal together - only 2 stools & not enough room. Sitting area had a 2-person sofa. No other chairs or tables. (The only other chair was the office chair in BR #2.) Sofa is a sleep-sofa so the unit could sleep 6. There is NO seating for 6 people in this unit! Even 4 can't comfortable sit, chat, eat, or simply hang-out together - not enough chairs & NO tables. One floor lamp (all other lighting for this area is in the kitchen section). In-room coffee maker but 1 pkg. of reg. & 1 decaf for 4 guests! (Tho we did get more at the front desk). Enough silverware, plates, glasses for 6 people BUT no place where more than 2 could eat at one time - if 4 or more, you eat in shifts! A medium size pizza will take-up the entire counter! Breakfast was brown-bag due to covid. But there was a limit: only 1 juice, 1 orange (dried and old), 1 banana, 1 bkfst. sandwich, etc. per person. (You could have 1 banana & 1 orange but having 2 oranges and no banana was a no-no.) Needs more casual chairs!! Needs a table!! Maybe add 2 ft. to the counter and add at least 2 more hi-stools in addition to casual seating. The rooms are large enough to accommodate more furniture: a casual chair in each bedroom, an additional night table and/or bedlamp in BR #2. This really deserved 2 stars.…
