Booked here for a last minute trip when most other area hotels were sold out. It looked ok in the pics so I thought I would give it a try. Their was only one person at front desk and a line that took almost 30 minutes to get to the counter. After all that, was given a king bed room...

I would not stay there again. Upon check in the front desk staff was less than courteous. The couch in our room was stained, which is disgusting. The furniture was well worn to say the least. There was no room in the parking garage, which is not very large nor well lit. We had to park down the street at...

Just some quick observations... We stayed in a "newly-renovated" King Room. Evidently "newly-renovated" means new carpet, and maybe a new bed cover. The window still had moss and mold growing on it, the furniture was 1970's style with numerous scraped and dings from decades of use, and the bathroom dub was old with rust. The HVAC system sounded like a...

Dirty,dirty....dirty! Non smoking room saturated with smoke, no sheet matress cover, door stuck shut with no help from staff for over 40 minutes, made us all late for VIP reservations, manager on staff told us not their problem, no hot water for shower, walls paper thin with college party going on one side and kids crying on other, FREE breakfast was...

Disgusting hotel, never again. Coffee pot was broke and never replaced. Tub would not drain so in a 2 day stay 1 person got 1 shower. Asked for handicap room...far from it. Multiple stairs from parking garage, not wheel chair friendly.

At check in, no information about anything was given. Had to ask where to park. It was efficient. Door was open to our room. Phone had different room number. One washcloth had something stuck in it. Towels were very worn. Our shower was recently tiled and clean, I suspect because there had recently been a leak over our shower which...

I have stayed at the Avalon several times since the 1990s. I did notice a decline about ten years ago. Based on that and reviews I saw on other sites I stayed away for five years or so. I liked it because of the location close to the Arena when I came to town for a hockey game. After seeing...

I'm an information technology professional, and I'm on the road approximately 51 weeks each year. For over 25 years I have lived in hotels, so I speak from experience when I say that the Avalon Hotel in Erie, PA. is a really great place to stay! Although the Avalon Hotel today is just a shadow of what it was in...

My spouse and I have been staying at the Avalon between 2 and 3 times a year for the last 6 years and it breaks our hearts of how quickly the hotel is declining. The rooms are getting older and are not properly being updated or the current issues being properly fixed. Every time we are there one of the...

I've stayed at the Avalon several years in a row. The first room we got was filthy, puke on the bathroom door, mold on the ceiling and dirty bedding. After being moved the 2nd room was not much better
