Detailed Reviews
My standards for 2-star hotels are very simple: it has to be safe, it has to be clean, and I have to get a good night's sleep, in that order. This place nails it. This has become my go-to spot for riding some of the rail trails nearby and it's never failed me. For the price, you're just not going to beat the value.
The wifi is the fastest hotel wifi I've ever encountered, even compared against our usual 4-star hotels. The rooms are basic, but comfortable and immaculately clean. The shower has never left me wanting for pressure or hot water, even during the morning rush.
The location at the top of the hill means you don't really get any traffic noise, but it also means there isn't much within walking distance. Fortunately you've got several fast food places (including Dunkin and Starbucks) within a very short drive.

As the title says, with taxes and fees we got this place for under $90. Needed to be a place to sleep, shower, and go. That’s what this place was and did it’s job. You will get ZERO extras, not even a late checkout but you get a room that is 90ish percent clean with a freakishly big TV. Been in $300 a night rooms with screen a quarter of the size. Micro fridge with a separate micro freezer on top which was a bonus. Only real cons was smoke smell that probably lingered from weeks ago but if you know cigarette smell, you can faint smell it. Some staining (mold??) on the lamps and bad rusting on the sprinklers in the bathroom. A big plus, bathroom was spotless compared to the room. Yeah, if you are literally need a place from 10pm to 8am to sleep, shower, and then head on out, if you get it for under $90, it’s worth it.

The managers and staff from front desk to housekeeping are extremely friendly and kind. They greeted me with smiles and made my day brighter every time I saw them. The rooms were very clean and always fresh linens and anything I needed was available. I stopped down for coffee every morning and it was always clean and fresh and ready to go
The property was very pleasant as I had my little dog Buddie with me.
Everyone of the staff that work there during my stay always greeted us both every time they saw us , it was very pet friendly with lots of room for him to go outside and explore and I felt very safe and secure.
They’re genuine concern and kindness during my stay was unbelievable and I would definitely recommend the Red Roof property in Greensburg PA to anyone traveling through… The location as well was convenient with lots of things to do if you had the time to have a little fun.

I stayed at this property in June 2020 as my second hotel stay since the pandemic hit the United States in force. I have been leery about staying at cheaper properties during this period due to the variability in brand standards and cleanliness. Red Roof Inn is generally cleaner than other budget properties and I hoped that this would carry over to heightened safety procedures during the pandemic.
I stayed with Red Roof for this stay over another chain because of the advertised "RediClean" safety protocols stating that all staff would be wearing masks in locations where this is required, mask use and social distancing would be enforced in public areas, and rooms would be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. While the room was clean, there was little evidence of enhanced safety protocols outside of the room.
No staff members at the hotel were wearing masks and, aside from a sign on the door stating that people are required by law to wear a mask inside and a plexiglass shield covering part of the reception window, there was little evidence of any enhanced safety measures inside the hotel. Had I known that the hotel was not following the safety procedures advertised by Red Roof Inn nor those required by Pennsylvania, I would have paid extra to stay at the nearby Hampton Inn. I expect better from Red Roof Inn, especially when corporate advertises that franchises will be following all local and state safety requirements.

I'll preface this with saying that the hotel itself was very nice for a Red Roof. I had a "never again" policy about Red Roofs after a couple of terrible stays in the past (different locations), but this one had good reviews and a friend had stayed there not long before our trip and had a good experience, so I gave it a shot. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean, and the grounds were mostly clean which is all I really need for a 2 night stay. I also appreciated the actual freezer on the mini fridge (not just the separate freezer compartment, but a real freezer!).
Unfortunately, the guests at the hotel made it close to unbearable. First night, shortly after getting there, I walk out of the room with my 2 leashed and well trained dogs only to be charged by an off leash shih tzu in the hall. My dogs just stood there while the owner scrambled to collect her little land shark. Then, outside, another owner was smoking a cigarette while his little dog wandered around off leash. My friend went out later and there was an off leash pit bull walking around while a group of people sat talking. Another person was unloading their very aggressive (but thankfully at least leashed!) dog when I went out again. Those people ended up in the room directly across the hall from me. I felt afraid to even walk my dogs outside to pee there. I would check the peephole then go out in the hall alone first, then quickly pull my dogs outside to avoid running into other dogs. It was NOT a safe environment for dogs AT ALL and should have been addressed. My friend at the other end of the hall had someone banging doors and talking loudly all night that night as well.
The second night, a group of people checked in across the hall. Between their drunken screaming, their barking dog, their crying baby (poor kid), the slamming of doors, and the strong stench of bad weed filtering into the hall, I barely slept. Around midnight, I downloaded a white noise app on my phone and that was able to drown some of the noise out enough to sleep. When I woke up at 5am, they were STILL laughing and slamming doors and being obnoxious. They seemed to finally pass out around 6am.
Honestly, if it weren't for the ignorant, obnoxious, rude guests staying there, I would definitely stay again. You'll have to decide for yourself if you want to risk it.

We stayed at this Red Roof Inn in mid-January, 2020. They let us check in early, which was great because we had our Corgi with us and needed to shower and get to an appointment. The room was very clean and the bed was really comfortable. The staff were very friendly and we could tell that the there had been recent renovation. The Manager told us when we checked out that every room had been stripped down to studs and renovated, and it showed. Interestingly, there was no separate closet, but an area next to the window where we could hang our coats with shelving for gloves and hats. Another shelf with an iron and ironing board was on the other side of the window. It was not unattractive or intrusive at all, and in fact made the room seem larger since there was a large arm chair in the room. We will stay there again when we come visit family. Being Pet Friendly is a plus!

I've stayed here several times over the past year and the rooms are always immaculately clean, the staff is always friendly and efficient, and I always get a good night's sleep.
I don't know what they're using for beds but they are freakishly comfortable. We normally stay in 4- and 5-star resorts when we travel so I'm accustomed to a luxury hotel experience, and I can honestly say that beds this comfortable are rare. It wasn't just one room either; every time I stay, I sleep better than I do anywhere else.
The layout and decor is what you'd expect from a 2-star hotel. It's functional and comfortable. The bathroom is arguably nicer than what you'd expect, while the room has plenty of outlets. Blackout curtains keep the parking lot lights out and there's no outside noise at all.
There isn't much within walking distance here but there are a number of stores and chain restaurants within a short drive. I stay here when I'm exploring bike trails in the region, so I'm just looking for a place to sleep, shower, and change, so that's fine by me.
All in all, this is the standard that budget hotels should hold themselves to.

My partner and I stayed here and when we got into the bed, we found a large piece of dried meat (pet treat) between the sheet and the comforter. This 100% means the sheets had not been changed since the last guest stayed (only bed in the room). Spoke with the night clerk, who came in and witnessed what I'd found. Asked for a refund and was told that I should wait until the morning, at which time the manager (Tricia) responded confrotationally and refused to acknowledge what had happened, or even to offer an apology. She even went so far as to claim she'd stripped the bed herself- not possible given the location of the meat. Her body language and tone were disrespectful and dismissive. If indeed she cleaned the room, and management is cutting corners like this, what else isn't being cleaned? Yikes.

We stayed here in January 2020 right after a full hotel renovation and had a pleasant visit. We have two Corgis, so we like that it is a pet friendly hotel. However, this time, there were issues, both in our room and outside. I don't know why, but the room seemed smaller than 2 years ago. Was it because we faced the back of the building and last time we faced the front (both rooms were on the first floor)? We checked in around 9:30 pm and when I took our dogs outside (we were in room 105, which was conveniently located near the side exit) we encountered HUNDREDS of cigarette butts outside on the ground in what was obviously a smoking area. The next morning I could see an outside cigarette trash container overturned and about 20 feet away, as if the wind had blown it over and moved it.
When I took our dogs outside the next morning, I could see the trash bins were wide open and the gates that hid them were wide open also. There were French Fries all over the ground near the bins and in the area of grass beyond the parking lot it was sporadically littered with coke and water bottles. Granted this was in freezing cold January, but I still think that the outside areas should be monitored, especially the smoking areas.
Our smoke alarm started chirping around 10:45 pm on Saturday night and luckily the person who came to fix it knew just what to do and the problem was solved.
The room itself was clean, but as other people stated, you get the bare basics; towels and soap and plastic glasses. There is a coffee maker in the room, but we only used it once, and for cream we had to borrow half and half from the lobby. There is a refrigerator also, which was useful.
With so few pet friendly choices in the area, I think we'll stay there again, but I was disappointed in the decline of the condition of the grounds.
