Detailed Reviews
I decided to book our stay this trip @ the Rodeway because they offered a room with three beds which is a huge plus since I have three kids and my daughter has usually got stuck on a cot that was less then desirable. Two days before leaving I stumbled across this website and read the review from July 2005 and started to panic over my hotel choice but it was just too late to change the reservations so I just crossed my fingers and hoped for a miracle.............. a miracle I guess is what I got. I could find no justification in either of the negative reviews on this site. The room was awesome and very clean......... the people at the front desk were unbelievably nice and very helpful.......... OK the continental breakfast was just as expected but if you're looking for a full buffet try moving up to a four star hotel......... I personally cannot afford $300-400 per night for a room I'm only going to use a few hours per day, so I think I'll stick to the Rodeway on my next visit to Hershey.

My husband and I and our 2 children (7 and 2) just returned from a two night stay here. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I had booked this hotel because everything I wanted in the area was sold out and we along with some friends were going to Hershey Park for the Weekend. The room we had was great - 2 Queen beds and a double bed with a kitchenette, refrigerator and table with four chairs. Perfect for us. We had plenty of room and the room was clean and well maintained. The pool was also nice. Water was warm and the kids loved going for a swim after we went to the park. The staff was very helpful with getting us more pillows and giving us suggestions on where to eat. The best part is it is five minutes to the park. This was a great find and we will be staying here agian.

Decided to stay here so we could take advantage of the discount admission prices during HersheyPark in The Springtime which is their special for Opening Weekends. Discounted Regular Tickets were $25.95 and Jr./Sr. Tickets were $16.95 avaible at the local Giant Food Center. The property is in close proximity to HersherPark (under 10 minute ride to the parking lot). The hotel charges were covered by our Choice Privileges Points Balance, but it would have been approximately $130ish for the two bedroom we selected.
Check in was very smooth. We were greeted at the counter and our reservation was processed promptly. The amenities were explained such as pool hours/location and breakfast hours/location. The gentleman at the desk then walked us to our room. The atmosphere was welcoming, not overbearing.
Normally we avoid Rodeway's because they are generally at the bottom of the Choice Food chain. However, based on research and info we decided to give this property a stay. The rooms are not your typical cookie cutter motel style one would associate with a Rodeway Inn.
This motel is more like a hotel (not quite). It appears as if it were an apartment complex that has been converted into its current state. The rooms aren't upscale, but they aren't suppose to be. They had everything we needed for our two night stay.
Our two bedroom "suite" was located on a second floor with no elevator access. It was very roomy and had one queen bed in a common room and two full beds in a private room along with a kitchen area. The kitchen has a sink, large fridge/freezer and large table as well as cabinets stocked with plates, silverware and utensils. Both sleeping areas have LCD TV's and separate heat & A/C. The beds are standard motel style. These were comfortable, but not nearly as nice ad the Comfort Suite beds we usually stay at.
Parking is somewhat tight, but appears to be sufficient for one vehicle per room. We were able to park right across from the stairwell to our room.
The indoor pool is located right off the lobby, so for most rooms you have to walk outside to get to the pool area. The pool is large with a depth scale of 3ft to 5ft deep. Pool towels are available right there.
They do offer a basic Continental Breakfast upstairs from the lobby and then menu for the next morning was posted at the lobby counter. It is the standard muffins, cereals, juices etc.
There appears to be excellent Wi-Fi coverage, but the speed seemed spotty and sometimes dial up slow via my iPhone as I was writing this review, so I switched over to my 3G connection. The place is about fully booked so it could be too many users on the hotspot. It seemed to vary with different speed tests at different times.
Overall, I can easily recommend this property. The desk staff was helpful and friendly with directions to the nearest Giant Food Center for the above mentioned discount ticket. The rooms were above average and easily accommodated the five of us. Even the bathroom was roomy. We would stay here again for the price point even if we were paying out of pocket. The more upscale properties in the area were priced significantly higher.

We booked through booking.com and will NEVER trust their reviews ever again. We are traveling with 4 kids, so we needed a room that could accommodate all of us at once. This "hotel" is more of a motel, with exterior entrances.
The room had a musty smell and they didn't turn on the heat, even in 40 degree weather. I could smell the cleaning supplies, so we know they use Pinesol but it didn't help cut the musty odor.
The beds were very cheap, springy mattresses and the pillows were completely flat. The bathroom does have a marble floor that looks out of place with the aging carpet and dated decor.
The walls are paper thin, if you are a light sleeper it could be a problem as we could hear the TV and conversations from the room downstairs. I feel bad for them as I am sure they heard every one of our footsteps.
The two rooms each had a TV. The kitchen area has a small fridge (apartment size), microwave and sink. No coffee in the room, despite the breakfast in lobby being shut down due to the pandemic.
Our assigned room was upstairs and the leading up to the door were coming apart -- definitely a trip hazard.
For the same price, we could have gotten 2 rooms at the Red Roof and been much more comfortable.
This place is a definite "will not return" for us.

We stayed here on 9/25/2021. After coming home from a show we found a bed bug. We caught it and brought it to management at the office. He immediately went into the back, discarded the bed bug, and told us" that is not a bed bug but a baby roach". He refunded our money right there. Do not recommend staying here!

Slightly off the beaten track in the middle of a nice residential area. Looked a bit odd when we found it. Checked in, opened the badly fitted door with a dodgy lock. Took in the damp smell, looked at the beds, old tv and older bathroom and reloaded the car and checked out.
The most uninviting room I have ever seen and so bad it was funny. Even though we lost money we would not stay in this hotel.

Do NOT stay here!! Run don’t walk!! The place is loaded with bed bugs and fleas!! There were no security locks on the door. I was in the room for 10 minutes. Sat on the bed and was basically eaten by these bugs. I left- . This place should be shut down. It’s a shame because it in a nice neighborhood.

The Hershey Rodeway Inn is our only choice after staying at quite a few Hershey hotels over the years. Service is wonderful. Accommodations are always clean. The Inn is totally non-smoking and a very short drive to the Park. Having two teenage boys, the free continental breakfast is a definite plus before heading out to the park. We always end the day with a dip in the indoor pool. There is also an antique mall closeby. For the amenities and value this sure beats any of our stays at the higher priced Hershey hotels.

What might draw you to this "hotel" is location and price. A couple blocks from Hershey Park and easily lower in price than surrounding hotels in the same area. You may say to yourself, "I can put up with anything for something that cheap and that close to all the action!". But you will also be regretting saying that within hours of arriving.
We stayed one night in a first-floor double room. Reserved on booking.com.
Room - a very dated, very dark and very moldy smelling room. First thing that hits you as you open the door is the smell of old. And mold. We surmised that it was coming from the dual AC/heater in the wall above the bed. But turning that off didn't help. Besides the light between the beds, there is the overheard ceiling fan lights and the bathroom light - that's it. Carpeting and bedspreads were stained and years and years old. Three pillows for each bed was nice.
Service - did not interact much with the staff besides the front desk woman. But after checking in I came back into the office to get the WiFi password and eavesdropped a conversation she was having with a couple. The husband had just found out that the indoor pool advertised was not open. He explained how they had chosen this exact hotel because his kids wanted to swim - brought their swimsuits and everything. Yet nowhere was it explained that the pool was closed. Instead of apologizing and conceding, the woman argued with the man that he had misread the booking website where it was clear that "the box next to swimming pool is NOT checked" according to her. Seriously? That attitude is how you lose customers.
Breakfast - I wish I could show you the video I took. Besides a juice machine and coffee machine, there were about a dozen slices of white bread scattered in a glass box next to a toaster oven. Two tubs of cold cereal. One waffle maker. That's it. Even a small child came in and exclaimed "Is this it?".
I really don't complain much, but I have to warn my fellow travelers to stay away!

We stayed at this hotel in Dec for Christmas in Hershey. 2 Adults, 2 Children. It had an indoor pool, which the kids loved to be able to swim in the winter and it was open late. We have stayed in the Hershey Hotel and Lodge before, which I think are overpriced for what you get. This hotel was reasonably priced. We rec'd an upgraded room for the same price, which had 3 beds, the kids loved all the room. The room was clean which is very important to us. The description was exactly as described. Located in a residential area and very quiet. We would stay here again when visiting Hershey. Very close to the park, restaurants and Choc World.

We grabbed only coffee, and it was bad.
I'm sorry, but my room had a bathtub
I wouldn't consider it walking distance to the park.. I believe there are a couple restaurants nearby. the staff at the motel are friendly ask them about restaurants as far as transportation try Uber or see if hotel staff has any ideas
Yes the hotel had king size beds in some rooms.
