Very friendly staff and the location is great! Rooms and hallways are a little out dated, but the lobby is very nice and the pool is big. We enjoyed the location as it was away from the crowds, but a short 5 min drive to downtown Hershey.
Breakfast was ok… would recommend going out to the Hershey Pantry or elsewhere for the price.

Under construction, bugs in room, bathroom door STAYS shut at all times. Breakfast is sub-par even despite the temporary setup from lobby construction. Just not up to Hilton Garden Inn standards. The entire experience from check-in, to room setup, to conveniences is well off the mark. It will likely still be a step down from other locations long-term, but I would certainly avoid this location at least until any/all modifications are completed.

Convenient to the Giant Center for the Elton John concert. Given the number of people in the hotel, I was worried about noise, but we didn't hear anything - a good night's sleep on a comfortable bed. Oh and the shower was awesome - water pressure is frequently an afterthought in properties at this level. It looks like the room has been recently renovated. Check-in was easy and Ebony was gracious then and upon our return after the concert. There was a sock on the floor from a previous guest, but I consider that a little oversight and didn't deter us from from enjoying our stay!

We stayed in a Hilton Garden Inn in western Pa before, so we assumed in would be very similar. Big mistake. When we checked in, the desk person asked if we would need housekeeping for our 4 night stay. My husband responded "of course," then she asked, "Every day?" There were three of us staying in a room with 2 queens, they gave us two towels, and every time we needed new towels we would have to hunt someone down. Housekeeping came in one day and emptied the trash (and gave us 2 new towels) after we complained at the desk, and we had to go again and get another one. Breakfast was an extra 9.95 per, and the only morning we decided to eat there (Tuesday) we were told they don't do breakfast on Tuesday, do we want to buy an overpriced box lunch? The room was either humid and warm or damp and cold, there was no exhaust fan in the bathroom, and Wifi was horrible unless you paid 5.00 extra per day. The other staff we spoke with were shifted from other Hilton properties and trying to accommodate us

We choose this hotel because of the location (close to parks and many restaurants) and cooked to order breakfast in the morning. It was a bummer to learn that they did not serve breakfast on the days we were staying. I wish I was told about it upon booking on their website. Instead, we were offered a breakfast box with yogurt, granola bar, prepackaged hard-boiled egg, plastic-wrapped mini bagel, and cream cheese. It did not look particularly appetizing.
Another reason to chose Hilton is the cleanliness of the rooms. Not in this hotel. Not our room: dusty lamps, disgusting moldy water on a room coffee maker, the bathtub would not drain properly.
Because of all this, we have decided to check out a day earlier. I was assured that I'll be charged only for the nights we stayed. However, a day later I received an email with a different higher amount to be charged on my account. Hopefully, I was able to solve this problem via the phone.
If you are looking for a clean, friendly hotel with a delicious hot breakfast in the morning, this Hilton Garden Inn is not the place for you

The staff is nice. The location is awesome, in a quiet setting. The hotel is well worn. Weekends here are a disaster, with marauding kids playing games such as tag, football and catch in the hallways well after 10:00 PM while their oblivious parents drink in the lobby and pretend its the Swatara Creek Riviera. During one of these instances, the person manning the front desk actually told me that they had no idea what to do about the situation. Wash cloths and towels are inexplicably a rare commodity, especially on weekends and must be hoarded. Even when requested, getting housekeeping to clean the room can be hit or miss. When they do “clean” the room, don’t expect them to be bothered to dust. The common areas range from dirty to filthy, with one elevator displaying a sticky substance on the floor for days and the ice machine tray on our floor having a pond for over a week. Little to no thanks for HH status, and often complaints about the weekend and guest behavior are treated with agreement and little to no apology. If you want to stay at a nice HGI, there is an excellent one seven miles away in Harrisburg.

The ONLY good thing I can say about this property is that the staff is friendly. The rooms and hallways look like they haven't been updated in many, many years. Our first room smelled worse than a high school gym locker room and had a pretty good size hole in the bathroom door. The windows were nearly impossible to see through due to not having been cleaned in ages. We were moved across the hall to the same type room and the only difference was the room didn't smell and there were no holes in the door.
The crowning glory was that we had added a second night to the reservation (we were attending a wedding nearby and they had a rate). It was about $100 more for that night. I was told I had done it after the deadline for the group. They agreed that wasn't quite fair so assured me they would take care of it with a call to Hilton. Needless to say, after several inquiries, that never happened. We also found that due to a couple concerts in the area that weekend, they were getting $500/night. Highway robbery for a dump.
Frankly, the property does not deserve to have the Hilton name attached. It is an embarrassment.

Normally a Hilton Garden Inn is a safe choice...not this one.
Upon arrival our room was surround by a phalanx of housekeeping carts - some with bags of trash containing food. The maid cart in front of our door was an unusual obstacle.
After a couple hours in our room we discovered items in the fridge and stains on the sheets.
The front desk tried to help as much as they could and moved us to a downgraded room from our suite. The next day they moved us back to a suite - but moving to three rooms in two days is not what we envisioned as a little break.
The front desk did fine - but the housekeeping staff failed the inn. During the pandemic it brings a lot of concern to whether the “enhanced” cleaning protocols are actually happening.

We came to town for a cheer competition. It was for me, my husband, my daughter and her friend. We stayed in a one bedroom suite. The layout of the room was nice. The bathroom smelled like urine and there was a bright red, wet stain on the carpet when we first arrived. I called and let them know. The stain didn't bother me, but I thought they might want to get it up. The urine smell did bother me. They assured me the room was just clean and didn't offer to come tidy up the bathroom. Wasn't happy about that. We went to the bar that night. Bartender was fine and drinks were okay. We paid extra for the breakfast in the morning. That worked out well. We checked out and at that point, I would have given it a 3 star review simply because of the uncleanliness of the room and bathroom. But, a few hours after we left, the guest service manager called to tell me they were charging my credit card an extra $100 because of the red stain on the floor. I said to him that I did not make that stain. I had no red liquid in the room, neither did my family. In fact, the stain was there upon our arrival and I reported it. He basically said he didn't believe me and charged me $100 on my card. I am disappointed that I am being treated this way after all the money I've spent with this brand of hotels. I will not be staying at Hilton again.

The hotel refuses to check anyone in until 3 pm. People are waiting in the lobby, but the assistant manager claims there are no clean rooms. Given that check-in is in 41 minutes, I find it hard to believe none of the rooms have been cleaned. When I asked the front desk to turn on the TV in the lobby, they claimed they didn’t know how. When I asked why I couldn’t just get the key to my room, staff became very snippy and said that check-out today wasn’t until noon and they hadn’t had time to clean the rooms. They clearly need to hire more housekeeping staff or get a better system. I’m a Hilton Honors member, and never ever have I been treated like this. I will never stay here again.
