The drive to KK was well worth the journey as you travel through mountains, valleys, good & bad roads. At the nature reserve you'll need a 4x4 vehicle. The views, the geology is awesome! A great place for bush walks. A nice place to visit for 4-5 days.

Excellent easter break Whilst accomodation is relatively expensive food and drinks are rightly priced, considering it s the only option available while there this is extremely honest and fair. They could do slightly better with taste of the food but the service and kindness of staff makes up for it. There are board games that make up for the lack...

The staff were very friendly and this made the visit worthwhile. The cave suits are more artificial than I expected. Beware of full moon as this prevents any realistic stargazing. Both game rangers who took our game drives were well informed and made the drives worth while. The time taken for meals to leave the kitchen was too long. On...

We visited Kagga Kamma Nature reserve for a 1 night breakaway from Cape Town. It was a 3 hour drive there via Ceres - very scenic. The accommodation (we stayed in the caves) were good with clean linen and nice views. It is very quiet. We walked the 4km trail and saw beautiful rock art. On the second morning we...

We had an amazing time in this wonderful area. Huts could use some renovation (bath) and outdoor dinning area could use new chairs and tables but with these views, the friendly staff and the interessting tours there is nothing to complain about

From the moment we set foot at Kagga Kamma we felt very welcome. Last part from the main road to get there is about 35 kilometres of dirt road that is in good condition and we loved the feel of remoteness and to get away from it all. We chose the hut accommodation with full board and it was excellent,...

We've been to Kagga Kamma a couple of times before, but keep going back every 2 or 3 years. It is a magical place far away from bustling cities and busy people. It is the best place to Unplug (no cell phone signal) and Unwind. On this trip we enjoyed the following: Hiking trails, MTB trail, guided Quad bike adventure,...

The resort is in the middle of nowhere, nice accommodations and friendly service. The restaurant is surprisingly good. You won't see a lot of animals, but the landscape, the silence and the night sky are really amazing.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Kagga Kamma is an absolute treat for travellers seeking a unique and inspiring experience. On your visit you will see a part of Africa that is unlike any other. The Cederberg Mountain’s otherworldly rock formations, a crisp sky stretching endlessly overhead and beautiful rock art from an ancient culture, is the backdrop to a wonderful adventure. Kagga Kamma’s accommodation options are as unique as the landscape it is set in. The Bushman Lodge offers spacious en-suite thatched rondavels/huts. The famous 'cave suites' built against the sandstone rock formations will take you back to a prehistoric time without taking away any modern-day luxuries. Kagga Kamma also offers a one of a kind Outcrop open-air “room” where guests can sleep under the stars in sheer luxury - definitely a not-to-be-missed experience.Speaking of the stars...Take a tour into the milky way when you visit our mini-observatory. It promises to be an inspirational experience when you view the Karoo night skies through our 10-inch telescope. While the sun is out you can opt for a journey back in time with our popular rock art tours. Our expert ranger will interpret the 6000 year old Bushmen paintings and living sites scattered all across the nature reserve.Other activities to be enjoyed at Kagga Kamma include relaxing nature drives with our knowledgeable guides, hiking trails, quad bike safaris, mountain bike trails, a 4x4 route and our Kagga Kamma Relax Spa. Even eating out at Kagga Kamma will be a matchless experience when you visit the restaurant for breakfast and lunch, and an outdoor lapa surrounded by beautiful rock formations for dinner under the starlit night skies in summer time. There is also a pub and lounge area with Wi-Fi internet, as well as satellite television for watching sports events. GPS co-ordinates:Latitude: S 32 44 45Longitude: E 19 33 46 ... more   less
