Bao Ma is a very charming hotel, which interior decoration in tradition tibetan style. The moment you walk into it, you will surely go "wah......" then your head will go up, left, right....continue to "wah...." :-) That was we responded when we stepped into it. Beside that, its just located opposite the Labrang monastery. There is a small hill near...

It is a convenient clean hotel but take cash with you as no credit card facilities in hotel or any bank in town. Interesting small family run business. Convenient for Monastery shops and restaurants. Norland Café for coffee and cake or Yoghurt with fruit. Or try Coffee top. Monastery is the biggest in Tibet these days and good for a...

After travelling from Beijing on the Silk Road we found the modern hotels lacked the "romance" we expected on that ancient highway. However the Labrang Baoma Hotel was a welcome change, offering the decor and hospitality of the region. Our bed consisted of a platform topped with mattress and locally made carpets, separated by a timber console. The walls and...

The hotel is located on the main road of Xiahe, within walking distance from the fascinating Labrang Gompa, surrounded by small restaurants and small shops selling Tibetan and Buddhist stuff. It is a three stars hotel, it is a Tibetan hotel, so do not expect a 5 star treatment. That being said, we found the staff to be very friendly...

Very friendly and welcoming staff, the nicely decorated room was clean and more than comfortable. The room was cleaned everyday, change of towels and bed-sheets. Free wifi available. Centrally located, one minute walk from Labrang monastery. I highly recommend.

No water for 1 night, electricity was off and no internet (because disturbances in the region). All things we could handle and expected. When we came back into our rooms after a nice day walking through town all our luggage was gone. When we went down they thought we checked out and were helping us (by putting the clothes of...

My family and I have stayed at the Baoma several times of the past few years and have always enjoyed our stay. Most of the standard double rooms have been recently renovated with a beautiful Tibetan design and are very comfortable and are a good value at around 200 RMB/night. The hotel is located just a short walk from Labrang...

I would not stay here again if I had a choice. It does not deserve its rank as top hotel in Xiahe. All the basic necessities for a traveller were not in place - hot water was irregular, the room was cold, blankets were insufficient and the front desk charges whatever rate they feel like charging. On arriving at 10:30pm,...

The hotel is located at the Tibetan side of Xiahe, on the main road. The staff is very friendly. We had a Tibetan style room ( with chamberwide "bed" ). The ( Western or Chinese ) breakfast is basic but good. The flatscreen has a dual mode TV/computer, so we could check the web in the room. Only disadvantage is...
