My son and I celebrated his 29th birthday in San Juan Del Sur and the Royal Chateau Hotel was our second hotel we stayed at during our visit and was much better than the first hotel. The Royal Chateau was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful, there was a free simple breakfast and coffee. The hotel had...

This hotel we wouldn't recommend to go. You don't get value for your money, the rooms are VERY basic, an old tv, not even a flatscreen. The beds are bad, we get up every morning with a sore back. Staying here for 12 nights, wich is too long. Nothing to store the suitcases on, no fridge. After asking for we...

This small hotel in the heart of San Juan del Sur was close to everything: market, restaurant, beaches, transportation. I cannot comment on the price as we were here with a small tour. Rooms were clean, quiet, and quite spacious for the area. Breakfast was good with several choices (all with Gall de Pinto of course) and the unlimited coffee...

Not much to say really: everything was just ok. Wifi and A/C worked well so our basic needs were met. The room was on the small side and had a faint smell I couldn't quite lay my finger on. The reception staff was, like many other reviewers have mentioned, not the friendliest bunch but they did their job. The location...

We were here for three days and enjoyed our time in the hotel except for our interactions with the lady at reception. Very unfriendly on arrival and extremely rude when asked for directions to a particular place in town. All we received was a finger pointing down the street. Admittedly we had no Spanish but this was the only place...

Quiet location close to all he action. Spacious rooms and good breakfast (3 options) although a little small as we ordered extras every time (at a cost - overpriced). Pancakes were really good. Contrary to other reviews didn't find the staff unfriendly but we've had Warmer welcomes. If you like beer this spot is in a prime location close to...

I made a reservation in advance for Royal Chateau by credit card. Upon arrival, I was told I would have to pay an extra $30 for my sister in law's 8 and 10 year old children. I was a bit perturbed about that but agreed to pay the difference. The woman at the desk then demanded to see everyone's passports....

This is a very reasonable hotel at the price point. The Good 1. Good internet 2. Clean 3. Central 4. Unlimited coffee, ready for when you wake up 5. Friendly staff 6. Secured parking 7. New A/C units in rooms The Bad 1. Dated Decor: The furniture does not seem old, but it is of a very dated style. 2....

a new, clean and safe place not too far from wherever you want to go in San Juan. There's no pool but a nice patio to sit with friends and enjoy a drink. The hotel has a "tower" from where you have a great view over town and a little terrace to relax after a great day on the beach

The Royal Chateau Hotel is a good choice for travelers who want to be close to the beach, in the heart of San Juan Del Sur, but away from noise. The staff is helpful, the rooms are clean - but small. If your looking for a lot of amenities, this is not the place to be.
