What another great weekend we had at The Wheatley Arms, we travel from Ireland every year to meet all our great friends who travel from Far & Near to attend Mark Richie's Gigs. The Wheatley arms made us feel so welcome and made our stay very enjoyable Rooms were quiet, nicely decorated with good colour theme, very comfortable 4 poster...

Staff were friendly and welcoming. We felt well looked after but not pestered too much to buy more drinks - just the right amount of attentiveness. Food was to a high standard and very tasty. Fish pie was packed full of fresh fish & Wheatley burger was a succulent and juicy. The general atmosphere we very relaxed and enjoyable. Would...

We stayed at the Wheatley Arms on a sunday night, checking in at 4.30 to discover the whole pub was dominated by a live country music gathering - checking in was not as reassuring a process as it should be as a result. Room 7 being right above the pub, the noise was really bothersome. Having been assured it would...

Hi Martin I'm very sorry that your stay with us was disturbed by the Country Music. This is booked in just once a year, and we have guests from around the country come to see the music and stay with us over the weekend. The weekly Pub Quiz is every Sunday night, both these events are well publicised in advance...

Having booked a room 10 days in advance, surprised to find that the hotel/restaurant/pub had been booked by about 40 people to sing Country & Western songs to a live group they had hired! I was entertaining family in the dining room, and it was almost impossible to talk to each other above the music.Obviously this was (I presume) an...

We stayed 2 nights mid-week, including breakfast & dinner. First, the staff were excellent - always friendly and helpful, both at the front desk and in the restaurant. The room was small, and the bathroom even smaller; it was a struggle to fit 2 of us in it and the toilet, sink and shower were crammed together. The equipment itself...

I was brought here by a friend who visits here fairly often. We booked dinner on a Saturday night and when we arrived there was a cheerful buzz about the place. The restaurant was well presented and there was a good atmosphere. My friend ordered a glass of craft beer. She was not asked if she wanted a pint or...

Our 6th or 7th visit here and we are never disappointed. The service as always happy and friendly with a good choice of food and a busy and efficient bar area. Breakfast as always excellent. There is the added bonus of the local train service into Leeds from Ben Rhyyding station which is close by.

I went to the Wheatley after work the other evening- as we do every week. The gentleman serving us was highly rude and did make us feel very uncomfortable. He stated he had only been working there for three weeks and if I'm honest, it is three weeks too many. He also continued to follow us outside of the Wheatley...

Hi Sophie Thank you for bringing this to our attention, I can assure you this is not the customer experience we look to deliver. The gentleman in question is no longer working here and I trust you will experience a happier welcome back on your next visit. Please accept my sincere apologies and I hope this doesn't put you off...

Agree with previous reviews that food is excellent but room we had was badly in need of refurbishment and shower tiles required cleaning. Room 11 had bath in room - sounded nice when spoke to person on booking but room was too small for this and we would have preferred somewhere to sit comfortably. Grossly overpriced.

We stayed for one night in Room 12. Excellent quiet room. The staff were very friendly, helpful and provided efficient service. We had dinner and breaksat - the food was excellent and we particularly enjoyed the kippers and haddock option at breakfast. Highly recommend.
