We chose this restaurant from a guide book for an evening out and were not disappointed, good quality food, friendly service and a pleasant dining area. The initial impression was not great from outside but once inside we were very pleased with everything. Surprisingly for a Friday night the whole venue was quite empty from 9.00 but this is certainly...

Too many average pub restaurants in this neck of the woods. So often Sunday lunch is an expensive, protracted ritual round these parts. Bring on the Royal Foresters...we hadn't booked,no problem, easily accommodated, friendly young staff serving on the bar , serving at tables. Not a grown up in sight, but the young crew here are bang on. This hotel ,pub ,Restuarant is...

The Royal Foresters was buzzing last night. Lovely atmosphere , the guys behind the bar couldnt be more efficient & helpful as were the staff in the restaurant. Under the watchful & diligent eye of Sean the owner he manages the whole set up very well. Super Scallops to start followed by a perfectly cooked medium rare Sirloin & super...

My partner and I wanted a quiet, homely valentines away and we had exactly that at the Royal Forester; the staff were friendly and incredibly accommodating for us, giving it a truly family feel. We ate with them on our first night and it was sublime! By far the best meal we've had out as a couple, the quality didn't...

Stayed at the Royal Forester for one night to visit relatives that live near by. Great family room - beds really comfy- clean and tidy - super dinner and wonderful tasty breakfast. The staff are lovely and helpful and the lady that served us breakfast was so nice. We loved the homely atmosphere and my daughter loved the hotel dogs...

We run recently away from the stressful London, in order to spend a couple of days in the country-side. We have been to the Royal Forester and we have to admit that our experience has been complete: from the food and drinks to the overnight stay surrounded by incredible nature and friendly hosts. Sean, the owner, came to collect us...

Just took the family for Sunday dinner at the foresters. Kids made very welcome. They had pasta. Adults had the self carve beef and chicken between four. Lovely to carve your own. They had a spare pork belly left so brought that out as well. No need to, but extremely generous. Can honestly say I have never had a Sunday...

We have had many pleasant sandwich lunches here but out latest visit has put us off completely. Poor quality food & clumsy presentation, plus burnt chips that should not have been served. Saving graces were well kept beer & a pleasingly cold glass of OK white wine. But for £17??? Two rubbish sandwiches on cheap white bread and two ok...

We went to the Royal Foresters for Sunday Lunch on recommendation. We took a visiting guest from USA. The food was very good and tasty. Twi of us had the fish which was cooked excellent. Other had belly pork which I was assured was delicious. Prices are middle of the road but the food is well worth it. We will...

We stayed here with friends for 1 night only, I expected it to be a much nicer hotel as the photos on website looked quite nice. Comfortable bar friendly staff. Our room looked okay but could do with redecorating as the calls we're as if condensation had been running down them and marked the walls. The bathroom wasn't very clean...
