I'm reviewing hotels at the moment while making allowances for COVID - obviously things like restaurants being closed are out of their hands, so there is no point mentioning it. This hotel was taking suitable COVID precautions. Tim on reception desk was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, so that was nice and just what you want when you arrive. The room was OK. The website sells it as all a bit country manor, but this is basically like a slightly upmarket Travelodge. The room was clean but a bit tired and shabby in places. The sofa was saggy and the mattress slightly on the lumpy side, but it had everything I needed and was very dark and quiet at night, so I did get two good nights sleep. I only had breakfast the first morning, even though I'd paid for two. It was disappointing to say the least. A meagre selection of cereal and the obligatory fry up. I wanted porridge and the girl checked with the kitchen but was told no porridge - no porridge!! I thought every hotel kitchen should have some oats in stock! Anyway, as I am on Slimming World and trying to watch my fat intake, I tried to pick the healthiest breakfast I could, but I'm afraid it was a bit on the oily side and the portion size was a bit tiny. They tried to fill the plate by putting my toast on it..... I'm afraid I probably wouldn't stay again as I thought it was over-priced and didn't represent good value. My car also got absolutely covered in huge bird poo's as there were very few car parking spaces that weren't under trees. I learned from that lesson on day 2!!!…
The Hotel is safe Covid wise, and clean and comfortable. The very limited members of staff were polite and friendly. The rooms are very nice - perhaps some new pillows? Ours were like wafers! BUT - the biggest letdown was the breakfast. It was safe in respect of table service only offered which was good. The breakfast was dreadful. The coffee arrived in a large pot and if there was 1 teaspoon of coffee in it I’d be surprised. The toast was like bread - pale white. The sausages were shown a pan for a limited time and were full of cereal. The bacon was like a piece of leather. The 3 pieces of mushroom were withered. The beans like the rest of the food was like warm - apart from the poached egg that was totally hot BUT undercooked and “slimy’. All finished off with J2O instead of fresh orange juice. Totally inedible, and as there were only 2 other couples they weren’t rushed off there feet. It was the worst hotel breakfast I’ve ever experienced. I’d be very unsure about booking there again!!!…
WE were treated to a night away as a gift and chose this hotel. The hotel staff were welcoming and polite operating Covid rules. The room was clean and tidy with drinks facilities. The room was lovely and cool on a very warm day and di not need to use the Aircon. Comfy bed but could do with a 2nd pillow and the breakfast was adequate. Felt safe staying here under current circumstances. This hotel is conveniently located for the West Midland Safari Park and we enjoyed a visit to Bewdley during our stay
stayed here for 2 nights 21st and 22nd august , very clean rooms ,spotless . Basic but what you want is there . bed very comfy and when asked for another pillow as pillows very thin ,we were given extra pillow without any questioning. staff very friendly and polite. Breakfast was lovely and choice varied. only thing i could really say was negative was there was no lift, there was 2 chair lifts to first and second floor but nothing then for further 2 floors. would definitely stay again. Thank you to all staff .
We stayed for a couple of nights whilst visiting relatives in the area. We felt quite safe with staying as all the precautions had been taken with hand gel etc when we first entered the building. However one thing that was a little annoying was that when we returned to the hotel in the evening after visiting family where we would often want to stay a bit later than normal, to get back in to the hotel you have to ring a mobile number to be let in and wait around, most hotels let you use your key card so you can get back in when you want to. On the first night once we had been let in there looked like something suspiciously like blood on the floor which by the next day had got cleared up, the second night we got back around midnight and had fresh towels and coffee and tea left in a bag by the door as no one enters your room at the moment but no toilet paper which we had run out of and you would have thought would be something that should be well stocked up on and at 1.35am we got disturbed for over an hour by a drunk couple deciding to have row in the next room, so didn’t sleep very well at all. the walls are quite thin so you can hear the traffic from the main road for most of the evening and our view was was of the petrol station next door.…
