Had a meal at the pub restaurant which was very nice and great service. The pub allows customers with Motorhomes to park overnight in its car park which is very picturesque next to the river. Very friendly and welcoming staff.

Have stayed in The Talbot a couple of times in the past, albeit a good few years ago. Unfortunately, not as good as I remember it. The food was average to good, the staff and wine list both good and the beer excellent. But the accommodation was looking tired and past its best. I know it's an ancient building, and...

We were not intending to stay as we were heading to the next town. However it was late afternoon and the sun was out and the beer garden looked inviting. The room was in the "old part" and was decent enough. The restaurant boasted using local produce and the meals were excellent, the Chicken and Leek pie was baked in...

Stayed for one night. Room was clean and tidy. I was a little concerned that the door lock was barely hanging on my door, although I did not feel unsafe here, it's a basic fix that should have been attended to prior to guests taking the room. Personally I loved that the room had uneven floors, even the chintzy curtains,...

I visited the Talbot, somewhere I know well and keep coming back to time after time as its so dependably good. All local ingredient, local ales and ciders, some brewed by the original pub it's self, and friendly and helpful staff. The food last Sunday was spectacular, all fresh in season veg, great home made dishes and the main roast...

We visit the Talbot on a weekly basis, for a drink or a meal so when we had family coming over Sunday morning we agreed to meet at The Talbot for breakfast, well saves me getting the grill on! Wow what a lovely surprise, eggs, bacon, locallly reared sausage, fried bread, black pudding, tomatoe and kidneys plus lovely fresh bread...

Stayed here for a couple of nights. There were some lovely points about this place. Nice little en suite with original features, the wonky floorboards and exposed beams, snuggly beds and pillows, complimentary fruit wine and homemade biscuits. However, the room was faintly whiffy and noisy. I had fortunately remembered my ear plugs - my friend wasnt so lucky and...

I first visited the establishment in 1983 as a resident for a number of months and enjoyed it immensely, though probably didn't do my health too much good! The squash courts are now a micro brewery and produce some great beers; THIS, THAT and TOTHER. I visited on a warm summers evening and enjoyed a couple of pints of THAT...

We went to The Talbot as we were recommended by people that had been before and said that they were always happy to stay open a little later. NOT on this occasion though. All was going well. The blond American barmaid was pleasant and polite. Then another dark haired American who had been drinking shots all night with her friend...
