Hogarths Stone Manor garners accolades for its harmonious marriage of traditional charm and modern design, with guests frequently commending the stylish rooms and spotless facilities. While the service shines with professionalism for many, some have faced disappointments, particularly during busy occasions. The serene location and beautiful grounds are a hit, yet the dining experiences, including the afternoon tea, are often criticized for not providing sufficient value. Room comfort is praised, though concerns about size and ventilation occasionally surface.

We had two connected rooms for three of us and the rooms were very clean and presentable. We opted not to have breakfast, but we dined in the restaurant each evening and enjoyed the food very much. We were a little surprised at being charged £5 for a bottle of soda water plus £1 for dashes of lime, making £6 for a couple of small lime and soda drinks. However, that's a lesson learned. The waiters were friendly and helpful, though one tried to move the 'socially distanced' tray, which they were using for cutlery and food, onto our table and seemed surprised when we asked him to put it back on the stand which was about a meter away. I was also slightly surprised that they weren't wearing face coverings as they were getting quite close to guests.
The hotel reception was much better about being Coronavirus conscious that the restaurant. Albeit, the staff weren't using masks, I saw the receptionist wipe down the table and the key pad on the card payment machine. That was reassuring, as was the fact that, at our request, room service didn't come into our rooms for the time we stayed.
The hotel stands in extensive grounds with mown paths through the long grass.
Overall, this is a very good hotel that is learning to cope with Coronavirus precautions. No doubt guests will want conflicting degrees of protection, so they won't be able to satisfy everyone.

We had a ground floor room, no view unfortunately but furnished to a high standard. Very comfortable bed with beautiful linen, towels and toiletries. Extensive grounds with seating for outdoor drinks or relaxation. Staff were very aware of the need for cleanliness and safety precautions at this time which we found reassuring.
Food was of a high standard and there was a range of prices for meals. Bar prices were acceptable too. Staff were exceptionally helpful, thoughtful and pleasant. It was a most enjoyable stay in an interesting, unspoilt area.

We got married at Hogarths Stone Manor in August 2019 and after the perfect day we had, we couldn’t think of anywhere better to celebrate our first wedding anniversary.

We visited with family (and our 2 young children) for Sunday lunch and then returned the following week for an overnight stay and evening meal just the 2 of us.

Even though social distancing measures were in place this did not affect the simply excellent service that we received on both occasions.

The food was incredible! As always the restaurant were happy to make adjustments to the menu to accommodate everyone in our party and the Sunday lunch menu is excellent value for money!

During our overnight stay we stayed in the feature deluxe room and...wow! Spacious, extremely clean, comfortable bed and luxurious feel to the room and the decor.

Final mention goes to the staff; they always go above and beyond. At Stone Manor we have always received such a warm welcome and our 2 visits this month were no exception. I’m currently breastfeeding my newborn and on Sunday lunch they found somewhere private for me to feed her and during our stay they worked within covid guidelines to enable me to store my expressed milk...again just going the extra mile.

Thank you Stone Manor for making us love the hotel more and more each time we visit.

Stayed here for 1 night for my anniversary. We chose the date night package which included deluxe double room, with breakfast, bottle of fizz on arrival in the room, and dinner included. It was very good value for money. The room was gorgeous, big bathroom with bath and shower. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and very helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will certainly go back.

What a fabulous location for a Sunday lunch. There is no rush, very relaxing with a comfortable bar for pre-dinner drinks followed by an equally comfortable dining room and,if you are lucky, you might have a window seat
To view the extensive gardens. The menu never fails to please offering a wide choice of a 3 course lunch. The roast beef has to be tried, served just how you like. After the meal enjoy coffee/tea in the relaxing comfortable bar.

My partner and I stayed the one night for her belated 70 birthday, I got a one night stay which included dinner and breakfast upon checking in I had a £50 charge put on my card to cover anything we had extra.
I had checked my booking receipt and the hotel website but couldn't find anything about the dinner and what our deal included, I asked at the restaurant and was told its the same menu just order what you wanted but this didn't seem right to me I then asked in the restaurant but agsin the person didbt know and had to go and asked and I was informed that the deal includes a £30 meal allowance each which sounds a lot but when most main meals cost in the region of £30 it can get expensive if you have a starter and a dessert especially if you are unaware of how the deal works.
That said the room the hotel the staff the grounds the meal was wonderful,
I was looking forward to a soak in a bath but sadly our room didn't have a bath 😭😭.

I wanted to book afternoon tea for my friend's birthday, and was delighted to see this available in addition to the regular afternoon tea, as I wanted something a bit different. The service, food and overall experience was fantastic. We were relocated to the pump rooms instead of the woods due to the weather, but this location was perfect for us. Gorgeous surroundings and extra touches such as lovely flowers, music, candles, snuggly throws etc made it feel really special.

The food was delicious but the service really made it one of the best afternoon teas we have had. We were served by Mat, and he was really attentive and friendly, but also didn't rush us at all, allowing us a perfect leisurely afternoon to catch up in lovely surroundings. Thank you for a great experience!

Just had my 70th birthday party here. Delightful venue, excellent staff, food was superb, service for the meal fabulous, impressive bedrooms and finally a great breakfast. Two of my guests were gluten free, the evening meal for them was excellent and at breakfast the following morning although it took a few extra minutes because they cleaned the prep area down before they prepared the GL free breakfasts which again was super.

My wife and I booked a two night break here to celebrate our wedding anniversary We arrived early but went to the bar for a drink before being told our room was ready , a nice room on first floor overlooking gardens ( 212) room was decorated in contemporary style with a recently refurbished bathroom. Our break included dinner on one night and we had it on our first night, food was good reasonable portions hot and tasty and was well served, a bottle of wine also included in our break had been placed in our room and we were permitted to bring this to dinner. A good meal served in reasonable time. So enjoyed meal that we also booked for second night. All staff were happy, polite and attentive, no problems at all. I would without hesitation stay here again

Stayed over night on the 18th July, rooms were lovely and reception staff were very helpful and did a good job. We were told that the bar staff would be around to make sure we were okay for drink, that didn't happen and while we were having pictures taken with the Bride & Groom our drink were cleared away before we had time to finish them. The Breakfast meal (evening meal) was lovely apart from the bread that was served with the pate, it was stale. Sunday Breakfast was cold and the coffee very weak, a lot of money to stay and then paying for breakfast its not worth it
