We loved our two nights at The Old Rectory. Sally was a wonderful hostess, offering us a drink and homemade biscuits and a chat on the south lawn after showing us to our converted stables accommodation. As others have mentioned the accommodation was very nice, clean and comfortable and plenty of space for the three of us. Sally also gave...

Wow what an amazing place to stay! Sally and Chris the owners, are very hospitable and full of knowledge on the history of Thomas Hardy! A lovely welcome with a cup of coffee and homemade biscuits, then a chat and shown to our lovely room, which was the converted stable. This room is designated for people who have dogs. It...

We have just returned from a very restful stay here. Rooms are very comfortable, if a little quirky - I think that's part of the charm. Breakfast with local produce was delicious. Appreciated tour of grounds - owners obviously proud to share their ongoing project.Overall great value.

We were given a lovely tour of the garden, introduced to the piglets, chickens and sheep. Had a lovely cup of tea and homemade biscuits when we got back with Anna. Breakfast...

We stayed for a 2 night break and the whole experience was just fantastic. So many thoughtful little touches (too many to list) and the owners really go the extra mile to make your stay a 5 star one. We have never stayed at a hotel with such fabulous facilities (even a smart TV) let alone a B&B. We had...

An absolutely amazing B&B. A very warm welcome on arrival. We could not fault the rooms in anyway at all with everything needed for our stay. And breakfast in the morning was the best ever . And a walk round the garden is a must with stunning views.

Didn't know what to expect when we booked this accommodation and were told we were staying in the room Thomas Hardy once stayed in. It's a little off the beaten track but in a beautiful setting surrounded by 3 acres of garden which supplies fresh fruit, eggs, and vegetables for the guests The house has its own history but also...

I have never written a review before but we was so blown away by our stay at The Old Rectory I had to post one. I booked 2 nights here for myself and my partner for a little bank holiday break. I am so pleased I stumbled across this little gem because it made our weekend break that little bit...

Lovely old house well away from the village with lovely not so old hosts, very good food, we had dinner in the first night and then tried several local pubs none of which could come close to matching their food much of which is home grown. Breakfasts also excellent. Would thoughly recommend .
