Welcoming hosts. Beautiful and quiet setting yet quite close to A39. We stayed for six nights and only met one car on the approach roads so it was easy to access, signposted from where your Sat Nav takes you. We really enjoyed our stay and the evening meals and the exceptional breakfasts. We had dinner there on five nights and...

My husband and I still wax lyrical about our stay at the Old Rectory a few months ago. It was such a wonderfully relaxing place to stay and the hosts made it such a great experience with their local knowledge and the stories they shared over dinner. Not only was breakfast delicious, but dinner (which was offered on several nights...

Since we're not English (or Cornish) we don't quit grasp the "thomas Hardy" thing. But we can understand now why he wrote some of his poems in that surroundings. The fact the even in modern society a family sets out on this journey to become totallt self supporting is amazing. We stayed for a whole week and found it always...

We only spent one night at The Old Rectory, but it's left a lasting impression - a wonderful location, property, host, welcome (and breakfast). The sun was shining, the garden was peaceful, the view down Vallency Valley was immaculate, the piglets looked tasty... this was by far our favourite lodging in our short trip around Cornwall. Boscastle is either an...

The Old Rectory is a beautiful property tucked away in the Cornish countryside. We enjoyed several days in this historical property and its outstanding gardens. Our room was comfortable and well appointed. It was a pleasure to awaken every morning to the sound of the birds and the view of the distant meadows with grazing sheep. Our breakfasts were so...

Wonderful food sourced from their own walled garden. Lots of local walks through the valley or along the cliffs. Sally, Anna and Chris are perfect hosts. Just like staying with friends in their own house. Beautiful location if a bit off the beaten track. So quiet all you can hear is the birds singing. OK there is an occasional tractor...

We arrived at St Juliot to a most pleasant cup of tea in the conservatory, a tour of the magnificent gardens, a visit to the piglets and the most comfortable room and peaceful night imaginable. Sally and her family have a real vision and a passion for this place and it shows. Anna's culinary skills with her fresh, sustainable, local...

Had a 3 night stay in Thomas Hardy room. Sally and Chris make you feel like you are staying in your home. Lovely cup of tea and homemade biscuits when you arrive. Wonderful rural setting. Fab. We were also treated to a wonderful meal, courtesy of Anna. All their food is sourced either from their own garden, or locally. They...

Have stayed here several times and on arrival I said to Sally it was like 'coming home'. Really comfortable room, delicious food and on this trip the weather was good too. Sally and her family are welcoming hosts and are happy for guests to come and go during the days of their stay. The gardens are a delight. Nearby a...

One of those places that "does exactly what it says on the tin". A very warm welcome and we were free to come and go as we pleased. Lovely big room (Emma's) with double shower and view over the garden. Plenty of choices for breakfast. It was nice to be able to get fresh milk for our drinks in the...
