The Darlington Inn has been closed for two summers now -grass grows up amongst the cobbles in the yard and it looks very sad. Unfortunately this is the same story unfolding in Cameford centre. Barclays, Lloyds and Natwest bank have closed, the curry restaurant is an Estate agent. However the co-op is great as is the Masons arms

I visited this establishment for a drink (thankfully had a booking elsewhere for lunch) and found it to be cold, unfriendly and not a little intimidating. When trying to make conversation I found the landlord was affable enough but the young barmaid was rude and surly to the point of being aggressive. My advice is to steer clear!

We had a lunchtime Sunday Roast here as we were looking for somewhere close to our camp site, the fact it was pretty much empty on a wet Sunday lunchtime should have given us a sign to leave but we were hungry and figured it could be OK. The dining room was empty, and very cold given the time of...

I've stayed here several times since Alison and Rodney have renovated this beautiful building and filled it with intelligent discussions and plenty of laughter which is only enhanced by the addition of Rosie, a simply charming barmaid with a fantastic sense of fun. As a chef myself, I take many tips from Alison - she creates all of her own...

My wife and I stopped here on our way home from truro this afternoon. I wanted a pint and we were both hungry. I had already phoned ahead to find out which ciders were on tap and was told Thatchers and rattler. When we arrived, we should have taken heed of the fact that it was empty. But we gave...

I stayed at the Darlington for 2 months whilst working locally. The pub is made by the great staff. Alison the landlady is a wonderful host who cooks delicious food and nothing is too much of a problem. The barman Aaron is a really entertaining guy and is a great asset to have behind the bar he especially knows what...

We didn't stay at the Darlington but we did have dinner here one evening. We all enjoyed an excellent roast dinner in the dining room which was excellent value. Would eat here again when we are next in Camelford.

The Darlo, as the natives call it, has always played second fiddle to The Masons Arms. It was closed for ages but was revamped and the accommodation upgraded. I like it as a quieter alternative to The Masons and find that the owners try hard to please the punters. There's a decent selection of Cornish ales and lagers. The food...

This is the nearest I have weber been to Fawley Towers. I Can forgive the fact that they forgot I was coming, though sitting in my sweaty cycling gear for 40 minutes while they sorted out a room wasn't much fun. The barmaid was lovely, and this 13th century Inn would have been lovely too if they didn't have cheesy...

Nice people but slow service. Waited over an hour for food but they weren't busy as there was only one other dining. When the food did come all I can say is thank god the had napkins. greasy is an understatement. It was more like a heart attack on a plate.
