Back again to our favourite hotel. Lovely room with a view of the river. Excellent staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. Faultless service, fine wines and food. I asked for lobster and the chef prepared it perfectly. Will definitely be back ASAP.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review. We do so enjoy having you both to stay - it is somewhat a 'returning friends' situation, and I do trust that our approach still remains completely professional, but equally, do hope that, as 'retuning friends', this would not prevent you from immediately letting us know...

Was slightly worried by some recent negative reviews but need not have worried. Yes the hotel does need a little tlc and updating but overal clean, tidy and public rooms very nice, with cosy fires roaring. The bedroom was comfy but a little cold when we arrived but soon warmed up.we had. Wonky loo and a shower door that wanted...

Me and my partner stayed here for one night , we were welcomed by Rachel who couldn't be anymore helpful and made us feel like we were at home. The room was lovey couldn't of asked for a better room and bathroom , the shower was brilliant too ,our room also had beautiful river views and a balcony which would...

Great location and staff very friendly and helpful. Food was fantastic but very pricey along with the drinks. Shame the room needed a complete overhaul although we so say had a superior room, the decor was very tired. Lovely balcony over the view of the river. For the price we paid for the accommodation I would of expected a much...

We are sorry but puzzled that you seemingly found everything here expensive. Our food is incredibly good value for the amazing quality, and you would pay little more for our Brasserie food than any half decent pub meal in this area. Our bar drinks are the same prices or cheaper than pubs in the area, and on the whole considerably...

Tucked away in a small secluded village, this is the place to go it you want a bit of peace and quiet. Don't worry about the railway line to the front, saw no more than two very slow moving trains in a day so they won't disturb you. Comfortable and clean rooms with great views. Downsides? Could do with a...

Spent a couple of nights there, staff were all very helpful. Had dinner in the restaurant twice, because it was easier than going out, food was good though. Breakfast was also good with a lot of choice. Would stay again quite happily.

Visited here for one night. We used Google maps to locate hotel but it sent us to the back of the hotel up a very narrow precarious hillside road. We had to call hotel to be redirected - so ignore Google maps and just drive down to the river side where the hotel entrance is up a very steep drive....

Ok so the access road is a bit steep, & it may test your driving skills, but it's a rural Cornish riverside village! Make the effort & you'll have stunning views of the river from the bedrooms & balcony. Rooms on the small side, but clean & cosy, with peace & tranquility guaranteed! Best of all, the catering! Every meal we...

We had dinner on Tuesday 18th October. We chose the hotel because it had 2 AA Rosettes for it's food. Sadly this was a great disappointment. The restaurant only had 2 other couples and the atmosphere was like that of a morgue. The food was poorly presented and they seemed to make up for the lack of quality by making...

Great welcome after getting lost & driving up the steepest drive. Wonderful room with estuary views. Walked to Fowey thru woods/fields & country lanes - 1 hour. Bus back to top of Golant - walk down to village - 20 mins. Golant has 180 inhabitants - we probably saw four in four days. You cannot get to the pub at...
