The site is based just a mile outside helston Cornwall and gives a great base for exploring south west Cornwall from the lizard to lands end. The site is small offering camping , caravans and clamping. It is a peaceful, child friendly site with a small play area and a ping pong table, which my kids loved. It's not for... More

We stayed for 5 nights with our 5 year old Grandson in a 6 Man tent and had plenty of room. Most Pitches had hedging around them which allows for a little privacy and we had a picnic table on ours. The grandson loved the communal grass area in site of our tent where he played most days with the... More

The owners GIlles and Nelly were very nice and left you to enjoy your hols. Loads of info to... More

We've stayed at Poldown many times now, both in the static caravans and, more recently, our own tent and have been delighted with our stay each time. It's a small site, the pitches are nicely sized and there is plenty of space for children to play including a mini playground and table tennis for the older ones. As well as... More

We stayed in September, stayed in the Safari Tent, We arrived on the Monday and stayed till the Saturday. Initially the primary reason for choosing her was the fact it allowed the dog. The tent was spacious and pretty much as described, it comes with its own kitchen facilities, including a kettle and fridge and dinning table with outside table... More

Spent three nights here in the safari tent. Great value for money, great facilities. Safari tent has everything you could ever need and more! Well placed to discover all the local beaches and see the west Cornwall area including lands end and lizard point! Area is brilliant with dogs as we took out two small pups and most restaurants cafes... More

Booked on the day we arrived and turned up late in the rain, the owners left us a note telling us were to pitch up which was nice! The ground has a gravel layer just below the surface but it wasn't too much hassle to get the pegs in, the campsite is surrounded by large trees so high winds are... More

What a fantastic site! If you want an all singing, all dancing, facilities focussed, large, commercial site, then look elsewhere. But if you want a friendly, relaxed, picturesque and quiet site with all the basic facilities (& more) that you need on a campsite, then get yourself to Poldown! We are a family of 4 plus a dog and having... More

We are just on our way home from another amazing holiday at poldown. We holiday here every year and love it!!! It is perfect for families with young children. It feels like you are hidden away in a beautiful garden - nothing like some of the tacky commercial sites. Giles and Nellie the owners couldn't be more hospitable , nothing... More
