I have just stayed at Friary Manor for a week on a business trip. It is a lovely old building in a scenic location and is an ideal point from where to go and explore Cornwall. The property is currently for sale and only bed and breakfast was available for our stay. Bedrooms are large and very comfortable. Only negative... More

Really nice old fashioned bnb with spacious rooms and a great breakfast. The owners could not have been nicer. The grounds and setting are beautiful with herd of deer on the lawn if you are lucky to see them.

Stayed over Port Eliot festival & as we booked so late this was what was available. The couple who run this place are lovely and try their hardest & it seems a lot for them to do alone. It is a typical English old school b&b set in beautiful grounds with deer. Rooms are large. Breakfast is a proper fry... More

Going away with a toddler is always tough, so when we found that our family room was actually two adjoining rooms, with a single bed in a box room for our daughter, we were overjoyed. Unfortunately, the mattress on that bed was awful, as I found out when I had to sleep on it, as my daughter insisted on sleeping... More

Three of us stayed here for a weekend at the end of October, we were going to a disc golf competition at Mount Edgecumbe for the weekend and didn't fancy the camping option. We arrived quite late thanks to my satnav not quite knowing where the hotel was, I think we ended up somewhere around the back, if you're going... More

Bathroom univiting and had NO toiletries, not even a bar of soap to wash your hands. Shower curtain over tiny bath grubby.'Shower' , water flow , next to none existent . It took 10 mins to try... We were at a wedding at Mount Edgcumbe nearby only a mile away. Jan the owner is delightful and so helpful even when we arrived late on a Friday. Hotel is in a lovely setting and a beautiful building, sadly hotel is for sale and now only offers BB but the breakfast was superb. Go for rooms 3 or 6... More

We stayed at The Friary Manor Hotel for one night only. Shame, it should have been more. The building is great with real history. The furniture is beautiful. The service is second to none. Breakfast was as good as we have had anywhere. (I read a negative review on TA, the reviewer missed breakfast, her loss. Perhaps she would be... More

We were staying in a cottage in Portwrinkle and found the Lisgawn by accident. The food was excellent and the staff friendly. We ended up going there for dinner three times during our stay and will certainly go back again when we are next in the area.

We stayed there when looking to trace my famiky "maker". Vic and Jan not only welcomed us warmly but treated us beautifully throughout. Our room was clean and appeared to have been recently renovated. It had everything we could possibly need. The gardens were beautiful with squirrels and deer wandering about. The breakfast was spectacular. I love that meal best... More
