Even without a booking we were made to feel welcome and quickly shown to a table and left with the menus but as it was the evening a number of the specials were sold out. My partner decided to go for the crispy pork and a pear and blue cheese salad which turned out to be a very good choice....

We stayed here for two nights and were very impressed by the friendliness of the hosts and staff. It is a very old pub building and they have worked hard to fit out to modern expectations. This they have achieved but with some residual quirks of layout, which most would find add to the charm and character of the place....

In all my travels I have never felt so welcome at a hotel or B&B, they could not be more helpful or friendly. The whole place is very charming, clean, organised and exceptionally tidy while still keeping that old England feel. I loved it. Food is excellent. I stayed here for one night and the staff made me feel very welcome. I had food in the evening, which was delicious and my breakfast was lovely too. I had a free upgrade and my room was very comfortable, including the bed and pillows. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks for a lovely stay

I stayed at the Royal Oak for one night and found the service and hospitality to be faultless and a real joy. I had dinner in the evening and was amazed at the quality of the food - more cuisine than pub grub. Breakfast was equally superb with excellent produce. My stay was a pleasure. Thank you - I would...

Only stayed for one night but would certainly recommend this as a great place to stay when visiting the area. Just off the main road our rooms were quite small but had everything we needed and, with what looked like new double glazing, were also very quiet. The atmosphere in the bar was excellent and from the number of people...
