Franchis Holidays is a quiet, family owned park with just 40 touring pitches and 12 privately owned caravans and chalets situated just 5 miles onto the Lizard Peninsula. It’s just a short drive into the village of Mullion with its pubs, shops, golf club, harbour and nearby sandy beaches of Poldhu and Polurrian Coves. We’re perfectly placed for exploring the wonderful scenery of West Cornwall, messing about on boats on the Helford, walking the coast path or shopping and lunch in St Ives or Falmouth. We now offer holiday lodges for sale so you could own a holiday home here and simply get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life as often as you like for 11 months of the year.

Stayed here the first time this year and we’ll definitely be going back, The Mullion area has been our favourite place to camp for 30 years and from now on this will be our go to site. Clean shower blocks, spacious pitches right on the Lizard !

We have stayed at Franchise many times for over 10 years. We keep going back as the Holiday Park is the perfect place to relax and unwind. The site is quite small catering for caravans, tents and tourers which means it doesn’t get overcrowded and noisy. It has plenty of toilets

We all know the British weather is often terrible and Cornwall is known for the rain, so why then do campsites that allow caravans and motorhomes not spend a little money on making their pitches hard standing, or all weather (reinforced pitch where grass gritted over but no

Oh dear, you really did let the weather colour your judgement. Franchis is situated in the heart of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty so, other than our seasonal pitches, we choose not to create further hard-standings and spoil that beauty and the vast majority of our customers appreciate this. The name ‘holiday park’ is simply an indication that we have more than just a campsite here. We are a small, family run park with pitches, static caravans and bungalows. I can’t help feeling you might have been happier in a nice flat car park or indeed running your own site as you seem to know so much about running one. Unfortunately, and unusually for September, the weather was bad just before and during your stay so the ground was soft. Over the years we have put in a great deal of underground drainage systems but the fact is that when it rains the ground does get wet. When you booked you would have been aware of the park’s position and that we only have grass pitches and you can see from our photos online and our YouTube videos that our pitches are in no way ‘steep’. Unless you pitch right next to the road then noise simply isn’t an issue and we have no idea how you didn’t manage to get out of the park in one turn as everyone else seems to. There are plenty of parks which do charge a bit more and have hard-standings; rather than blaming us for not being one of them simply book one next time. We have indeed begun a lodge development here but please don’t feel you can make false assumptions about our business interests based on this. We are a family who genuinely work hard in the hope that most people will have a lovely stay with us and the campsite is still very much at the heart of what we do. We’re sorry you had such a ‘terrible’ break and weren’t reasonable enough to discuss this with us in person despite seeing us regularly about the park. Perhaps if you’d got out and about a bit more and enjoyed all The Lizard has to offer rather than festering in your caravan watching everyone else on the park and noting the times of cars passing you would have had a better experience. PS Don’t put your head into ladies’ toilets.

This was our first trip to Franchis Holiday Park and it certainly will not be the last. The arrival and booking is was easy and very friendly and you are left alone to do your own thing unless you need any help which is there if you need it. The setting is great and the walk on

Hello, We used to have a shop here but this will be our first year without. The nearest shop is at the Parkdean site about a mile down the road from here but Sainsburys, Tesco and Lidl are just 5 miles away in Helston and Mullion (2.5 miles away) has a great Spar with bakery and also a Londis. I hope that helps Kate (park owner)
