We have stayed here 4 times now & have never been disappointed. The moment you enter the reception you feel welcome, nothing is to much trouble for the staff, you never get the feeling that they are fed up or unhappy. Johnathan takes you to your room & chats about whats going on at the moment with all the upgrade. Which we...

Went to Penventon for a Birthday treat as had been here many years ago and was excellent though sadly not the case this time. Restaurant and service was excellent very attentive but food let them down was average at best for the high price you were paying expected really good food. Starter had ribs which came lagged in sauce which...

We have just had a two day break at this excellent hotel. On arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome and a smile from the receptionist and this friendliness and warmth was a constant throughout our stay. As mentioned by another reviewer, the staff really appear to enjoy their work. This must have a lot to do with how...

A repeat stay (2 nights) and the hotel remains a great find. It's very quirky - room allocation seems pot luck and they are all very different. I recommend a garden room (called suites). Service is great but dinner booking is haphazard. Even if you book a table, the time they serve you is random. But the food is excellent;...

Stayed for 2 nights at this hotel. I haven't been to Cornwall before so I was looking forward to it and I wasn't disappointed. We were told there was some renovation going on but from our room we couldn't hear a thing even though we were quite close to it. We had a lovely large room with a very decent...

Lovely building and the spa is fantastic! However it was a long wait to be served in the dining room and again at breakfast the next morning. We stayed with another couple whose room was very small and we were in a suite, I presume as an apology for charging me twice but nothing was said about this whilst at...

Much of my life involves travelling and staying in hotels - and this Pascoe family work-in-progress ranks very high in my estimation, with a warm, welcome and unsnooty atmosphere despite its obvious quality, turning Redruth into a destination, not a place to shoot past. Delicious, decadent feel about the decor, with specially-commissioned Venetian glass, along with steam-punk fittings, mirrors and...

This hotel is not worth a stay if you want to sleep! I had to move rooms due to the noise and didn't even get an apology from the Reservations Manager. Male underwear found in the drawer of the room so obviously not cleaned throughly. Food good but expensive there are much better hotels in Cornwall I won't be returning...

Booked for a one night "escape to Cornwall" trip and were absolutely delighted by the welcome, hospitality, service, facilities and food.Even our dog (fab garden room suite) got a warm welcome. We have stayed in numerous hotels around the world and this is the first to give you a call from reception, 15 minutes after being shown to our room,...

My partner and I stayed for two nights in January to visit nearby family. We booked our stay via a well known discount company but, having been shown to our suite, we would have happily paid full price. A four poster bed, large flatscreen TV and patio doors leading out into the gardens was most unexpected. The staff were really...
