The hosts made us feel very welcome, were helpful and so friendly. The room was nice and clean, comfortable, tidy and homely. Everything you need, home from home, super breakfast. There's so much to see in the area. We are going back as soon as we can, and have recommended family and friends about this guest house.

My wife and I stayed here for one night. We were welcomed by a friendly couple who showed us to our room which was a lovely and although facing the main road, it was not too noisy. Although evening meals are not served here, we were recommended nearby eateries and even given the option of getting a take-away and eating...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Chapel Guest House has been under new ownership since December 2016 and is now managed by Andrew & Deborah West. Over Winter we have undergone extensive refurbishment throughout most of the property including all accommodation. All of our rooms are fresh clean and simple with brand new beds and mattresses and all mod cons provided. We look forward to welcoming guests, both new and old, to this beautiful part of Cornwall. Check out our website for the best rates guaranteed. The Chapel Guest House, formerly a Bible Christian Methodist Chapel was originally built in 1862 to serve the village of Carthew. This imposing building has been sympathetically converted to provide accommodation and retains many of the original features of the Chapel. There are large arched granite windows with coloured glass to the front, and glimpses of trusses and keystones are evident throughout the building. With prices starting from £75.00 per night the Chapel offers offer luxury accommodation in 5 Guest rooms which have been simply yet tastefully decorated. All rooms have new mattresses and sumptuous toppers made up with crisp clean linen Our rooms all have en-suite shower rooms with toiletries and fresh towels provided. Every room contains a flat screen television, hair dryer and tea and coffee making facilities, which are replenished daily. We provide free parking and free WiFi as standard. . The Chapel Guest House offers a comprehensive breakfast menu to suit all tastes, including buffet style, continental, a full cooked breakfast and vegetarian option and many more. If you have any special dietary requirements such as gluten free, dairy free or vegetarian, please let us know and we try our very best to accommodate you. Centrally located in the heart of Cornwall, the Chapel is nestled in a wooded valley in the hamlet of Carthew, just north of the old market town of St Austell. Many attractions are within a few miles such the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, as well as a wide choice of beaches all within a short hop. There are many local villages all worth a visit, including Mevagissey, Fowey and Charlestown. The Sawles Arms is a small local Pub only 5 minutes walk from the Chapel, where you will given a warm Cornish welcome. Unfortunately we are unable to accept pets. This is because we have 2 small dogs ourselves. The Chapel is a great base for your Cornwall visit and we look forward to welcoming you into our home ... more   less
