St Austell is only 25 miles or so from where we live, but we've never really spent any time in the area except to go to the Eden Project. We stayed there two nights, Sunday and Monday, with breakfast thrown in. An an evening meal. On Sunday they have Salsa, so we switched our meal to the Monday, although we...

As we were in the area we decided to check out the hotel, as we had booked a deal end of March. Member of staff showed us was the car park was, not too far, so no problem. We decided to stay for lunch. Lovely staff, friendly and helpful. We had the pensioners meal £6.95 for 2 courses. Main was...

We arrived late after a very long journey and sadly had missed the kitchen, but were greeted by a very friendly and helpful member of staff. The rooms were very spacious, comfortable and the showers were excellent. The same young man served us some drinks in the bar and was very chatty and knowledgeable about the bar offering and local...

Checked in on Monday for two nights by very friendly staff. The room was nice with good sized ensuite, comfortable bed, TV & tea making equipment. It's a very old building but well maintained and decorated. We ate there for dinner on both nights and the food was fantastic. A trip to the St Austell brewery is highly recommended!

We felt this place had gone downhill after our last couple of visits here, but I am pleased to say it is on the up again. My husband had the short rib of beef and I had chilli beef with noodles. Both meals were well presented and tasty. The portions were also a good size and the food was hot....

This is an old hotel in the centre of town, not near the beach, the room was small but clean and comfortable. The TV is really not up to modern standards. There is a friendly and comfortable bar lounge and a restaurant and breakfast room. The food is simple but well prepared with fresh ingredients. Very friendly and helpful staff

Visited this pub with rooms twice now. The rooms are excellent, well appointed and in good decorative order. It's in the middle of town so some noise until 11ish but nothing major. I ate a super meal of local mussels. Breakfasts are really lovely. Only caution, and it's undoubtedly a one off and would appeal to others, I'm working tomorrow...

Supposed to be a romantic weekend break to celebrate our engagement but my fiancée ended up being ill. Phoned before I booked and was told they could cater for a vegan. Richard was amazing in the restaurant and came up with an option, chef supplied cheesy bread though but we assumed it was a mistake seen as the rest of...
