We stayed at Polhawn Cottage last year. We were going to a wedding at the fort next door and could not have chosen a better location. The cottage was beautiful with stunning views. Only difficulty was the steep narrow road to approach it. The owners were very welcoming and full of local knowledge. The breakfast in the morning with clear...

Stayed for two nights to attend a wedding at the fort. Arrived early but this was not at all a problem and we were made to feel very welcome. John & Carolyn are very friendly and we were made to feel that the cottage was our home for the two days we were there. Beautiful views, lovely breakfasts, comfortable room,...

Like many people, we stayed at Polhawn Cottage because we were attending a wedding at the nearby fort. We stayed for 3 nights, and couldn't have asked for a nicer experience! The welcome we got from Carolyn and John was wonderful, they were both genuinely friendly and very helpful. Their pets, Bertie (the dog) and Scuttle (the cat) were equally...

Stayed here for 2 nights with my best friend to attend a wedding at the the near by Fort, and we shall 100% be returning! The place is magnificent! There are no words to explain the views, I have never seen a more beautiful sunset! The hosts are the most lovely people, nothing was to much bother and they cooked...

We stayed for two nights to attend a wedding at the nearby Polhawn Fort. On arriving there is a steep approach for cars but very doable. Soon as you meet both John & Carolyn you feel very welcomed and feel as you have known them for years. We stayed in the twin room located upstairs with stunning views of the...

Thank you for our wonderful stay last weekend. You welcomed us like friends & family and made sure we had a good time. Loved the bay view double room with its stunning sea views, the lovely finishing touches & the huge bathroom. Wowed by the location- so envious of John & Carolyn living here :-) We were at a wedding...

We stayed here to attend a wedding at nearby Polhawn Fort: it's only a short walk, but you will need some flatties! When you find the driveway to the cottage (a short distance down the Polhawn Fort drive) you may be alarmed but it's actually OK for most cars. If you are lucky enough to visit on a clear day...

We stayed here for three nights for a family wedding at the nearby fort. The room had been pre booked for us so we had no idea what to expect. We didn't spend a great deal of time here as we were over at the fort every night until late so literally just came back to sleep so this place...

Nice people who provided a good drop off service. Our room was tired and we ended up with a blocked toilet. Previous occupants were blamed. The extractor fan was hanging off the ensuite wall. Their cat and dog provided some amusement. Because they are next to a popular wedding venue, they can charge a premium. Compared to other B and...

We are quite prepared to believe that the upstairs rooms and views are as good as other reviews report. Unfortunately, the downstairs room in which we stayed is a disgrace. I have to agree with everything pm46 said in his review except that Barry Bucknell would not want his name mentioned in the same article as this bodger's paradise. One...
