Berida Hotel is often celebrated for its cozy and stylish ambiance, with an inviting atmosphere enhanced by its elegant Whisky Room. While the diverse amenities, including food and bars, receive praise, there have been some mentions of additional costs and the need for updated gym equipment. Cleanliness stands out, with guests commending the immaculate conditions and efficient housekeeping, although there's room for improvement in deep cleaning.
The hotel's service earns accolades for staff professionalism and friendliness, despite occasional feedback on extra charges. Its prime location is favored for its proximity to Bowral and Berrima. Guest experiences with rooms and value for money show a mix of satisfaction and concerns over size and noise.

Detailed Reviews
From the moment I called the hotel directly to make a booking I knew I was going to have a great stay. Louise arranged a lovely deluxe king room for us and it was very luxe indeed. Spacious, light, very comfy bed, mini bar etc. The hotel has been completely refurbished and is a lovely manor house. Breakfast was quite good but I would have liked more fresh fruit and some croissants & pastries. For $25/head a fresh barista made coffee should be included I feel.

Unfortunately only stayed here for one night in late January in a deluxe King room on the first floor. I comment unfortunately as we did not allow sufficient time to take advantage of the Hotel's many facilities including the indoor heated pool, the day spa, the billiard room and the numerous little nooks and crannies where you could enjoy a drink in a quiet space. There was also an interesting Local Produce store and a large attractive bistro but we did not use either.
Our very large room was on the first floor and was accessed by a stairway (23 steps) as there is no lift. The room was stylishly furnished with a King sized bed (very comfortable and extra pillows available) with bed side tables and lamps on either side of the bed, a two door wardrobe, a full sized stand alone mirror, two armchairs, a small coffee table, a chest of drawers upon which sat the flat screen TV and a writing desk with a chair and desk lamp.
The bathroom was also reasonably large with a good sized vanity and a walk in shower (good pressure and no bath).
The WIFI was included and worked well. I did not notice a safe. Both the room and bathroom were very clean. As indeed were the myriad of common areas.
The only downside was a lack of power points particularly next to the bed. The lamp on one side of the bed was attached to an extension chord which was far too short and lead to a power point behind the bed. It was not possible to either reach the end of the extension chord or the power point without moving the bed to plug in essential medical equipment.
There was free parking both at the front and rear of the Hotel which is conveniently located directly opposite the Bowral golf course and about a 15 minute, relatively flat, walk to the centre of town. Our room fronted a side garden and was very quiet.
Staff at check in and check out where very pleasant and efficient.
Would absolutely stay here again.

We stayed as part of a visit to the area, Sydney to Bowral to Red Cow Farm Gardens to Fitzroy Falls (which Google Maps seemed to have trouble with) to Kangaroo Valley to Kiama etc with Nanna, just overnight.
Despite it being a small property, about 40 rooms, there is a business centre (and some conference facilities), it has a bistro/ gin bar (even for just a nightcap service was friendly and quick), the guest lounge has a selection of Whisk(e)y etc.
Shop off the lobby has a selection of local produce.
There’s a library upstairs, as well as expresso machine.
On this trip we had two rooms. The king one had two mattresses on it, so split down the middle, otherwise comfortable.
One room had a view of a small terrace, the other of the car park.
Usual coffee/ tea making facilities and a minibar.
One of the bedside lamps had poor insulation on the electric wire. Imagine that has been fixed.
Accessible powerpoints near the TV.
Wi-Fi was complimentary and hassle free though generally sub 5/ 1 Mbps, latency 10 to 15 ms, no packet loss (iPad, iPhone, Net Analyzer, Speedtest, Fast.com).
Shower was big enough for more than one, shower door bulging from getting wet.
Bathrobes!
Not sure tennis court is operational, and there’s a golf course just out the front gate.
About a 10 minutes walk away we had dinner at Italian restaurant Eccetera, very good.
(Shops in town generally not open till 10:00, despite it not quite being small town Australia.)
Weather was nice and cool overnight, mid twenties during the day.
We enjoyed it!

Our recent 3 night stay at Berida Hotel was nothing special. The room was clean and comfortable. Our room (17) was at the end of a long corridor with limited lighting and it was challenging to find the door key hole. The hotel's decor was not to my personal choice - very dark colour palette, which seemed rather gloomy. We didn't dine in the restaurant, but did have room service one evening - the menu was limited and it would be good to have lighter choices. We thought an additional $25 per person for breakfast was too expensive - there was not a Continental breakfast option. We wouldn't stay here again.

Beautiful small hotel which is like stepping back in time as you walk through the front doors. Whilst our room was too small to relax in there were lots of areas throughout the hotel where you could curl up on a comfy couch with a book, one would hope that the bar would deliver a drink or coffee to you in these areas too.... There is also a beautiful lounge room with an open fire, comfy lounges, tables and a bar area which wasn’t open when we were there but one would presume it would be in busy times. And there is a games room, complete with a pool table and darts board. The pool was a let down, it would’ve been grand in it’s day but is in desperate need of a renovation. We were looking forward to using the pool area but decided to give it a miss. Apart from the pool the only other down side was the gardens. Other hotels we have stayed at in the region have stunning gardens that you can relax in, here it seemed it was all car park, front and back, with a small area of garden to one side.
Loved the fact that this hotel does not provide mini shampoo, conditioner etc, they have full sized bottles attached to the bathroom walls for your use whilst staying, much more eco friendly. We made ourselves a morning Nespresso coffee in a small kitchen near our room, which provided most things you may need whilst staying. We also enjoyed a hot breakfast in the restaurant.
The bar was fabulous to end the day in, the staff however need to get their act together. We almost felt that we should be helping out as the barman just didn’t seem to be coping. We had dinner in the restaurant and again experienced some ‘interesting’ service from the same staff member. Dinner itself was delicious.
A great stay, beautifully furnished and styled and something to look at every step.

Our children had given us two nights accommodation and Bistro Sociale vouchers as a family Christmas present and for a variety of circumstances we decided to go in early winter. We arrived Bowral on a Sunday afternoon and did some sightseeing before checking in. As we completed our sightseeing it began too rain and set the theme for the next few days. So we arrived at the hotel to find that the parking was uncovered and mostly located around the back of the hotel. The front parking was full, so we parked at the back, loaded up with our luggage and crossed the muddy, potholed road back to the hotel rear entrance. This hotel has no lifts and lots of stairs, some of which we had to carefully climb to enter hotel having watched another guest slip on a wet stair. However, once inside there was a very comfortable feel and after checking in and climbing another set of stairs we found spacious room with interesting views across western Bowral. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was nicely set up and we were able to log into our Netflix account to wile away the hours given that there is not much to do in Bowral of a night time and restaurants get you in and out very early. Two highlights of our time in the hotel, besides the Bistro Sociale that I reviewed separately, were sitting by the fire in the Gin Bar and Lounge and sipping on a wine while reading a book and breakfasts in the Bistro Sociale - great menus, lovely juices and excellent espresso coffees. I had the pancakes the first morning - delicious - and eggs Benedict with bacon on the second and it was a good sized serve and quite filling.

In Bowral for overnight stay and a visit to carry out some volunteer work at the Bradman Museum, the Berida provided a very comfortable stay. It’s reasonably priced, but avoid ground floor room near reception as one of our friends found this noisy - main traffic route to rest of hotel. Staff friendly, efficient and lots of evidence of health and hygiene measures in COVID time.
The Berida looks newly refurbed and elegantly decorated, with an old fashioned charm suiting its vintage. It’s located next to Bowral golf club, so it’s perfectly placed for a golfing trip (maybe next time).
A friend and I occupied the two bedroom family suite. There is a double room and twin with the en-suite. Big bathroom with great shower, big fluffy towels and good lighting over the sink to put on makeup! Tea making facilities, tv in both rooms and aircon make for a very comfortable stay. Free wifi is always a plus. The gin bar is a cosy spot for a night cap around the fire. We didn’t eat at hotel, heading instead a short distance into town to Imperial Hotel and the pizza bar. Great pizza selection and a large group of us shared a variety of tasty food. Brekky at the Bradman cafe, served in the museum was pretty good. Limited menu due to COVID, but toast, bacon, eggs, avocado (various combinations) or variety of pastries with good coffee went down a treat. A visit to the museum is of course a must. Lots to see for the cricket tragics, although some of the interactive exhibits are not open at the mo. Great selection of gifts at the shop and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Look forward to return visit.

The quaint residence has all the hallmarks of a rural centre. Our room was in a more recent extension to the 1925 home.
There are plenty of things to see and do locally and the hotel is within walking distance of the high street.
Reception in the old home is staffed by friendly knowledgable locals. Our room had a queen bed and small lounge area. Linen is decent quality and apart from a small plastic contact lense fuild container on the floor, the room was spotless.
It is comfortable and apparently newly refurbished. The bathroom is clean but the shower cubicle is small. water pressure was good, with plenty of hot water. The air conditioning compessor shook the windows which was a bit annoying. the outside unit was mounted on the wall, which is never a good idea, and always seems to transfer noise inside.
Public areas are nicely furnished, with an air of graceful years gone by. We didn't take breakfast, but there is onsite dining to be had. Other public facilities are well presented. We stayed overnight so were not able to fully experience the on-site atmosphere.

We staywd as a family of 4 at this hotel for a short break out of Sydney. What a waste of money and time it was.
From making the booking through booking.com the hotel communication was terrible. We arrived to be greeted by very rude staff not interested in helping with where to go and what to do in the area with children. The family room was large but dated. The bathroom smelt of sewage and had a stained and cracked sink. We ordered 2 cots both of which were so dirty we decided not to use one of them and put the 2 year old in a single bed. The blankets for the cots were stained. Breakfast was included in the room hire but was a waste of time it was as it was just awful with tea bag coffee and the ‘hot’ food on the buffet was cold and inedible. I note the price for breakfast is $35, you could get better at McDonalds!
In general the staff were surly and unhelpful. For the price of this hotel in Bowral you could find something really lovely and have a more enjoyable trip - do yourself a favour and don’t stay here!

The hotel features are exquisite, contemporary and warm. The family room we stayed in is cosy, very clean comfortable. The main bed is comfortable as well as the sofa bed, the way it was assembled is the right height and the sheets are very clean and not itchy. The amenities, toiletries are well thought off with quality.
The staff members are very friendly, specially Liddy who took the time to advise me that our room is ready hours before 2pm. To me integrity is the key, a simple request where she attended it personally. Thanks Lid! You are definitely an asset to the organisation.
Talking about the location, it is 5mins away from the town center, very convenient and close to everything.
Definitely, we will go back to Bowral because of the overall experience.
