2nd visit, couple only. We like the location, hence tried it again. We told them before we wanted 2 pillows each, and given the strange very bright lighting arrangement a couple of cheap bedside lamps would be good. Smallest TV you seen in modern days !
Nothing has changed. ! In addition I had booked at top rate of $175 per night, but because 2 of us, they lock access to the second room so suitcases are a nuisance, no access to extra pillows. The fridge has not been defrosted for a year, and no ice tray anyway.
When we arrived the current booking.com rate was $111, but no they took the full rate, no offer of part discount, plus $100 processed for possible damage. ! In addition, check in is at a motel back near town, with limited reception hours, so instant remedy to pillows is not possible.
Overall, we won’t be back. We have paid full freight on 2 occasions, and they are just not interested in their customers. That is a lousy thing to say about any hospitality operator, small or large. But true. W.

Have stayed in one of their cute red cottages before.
Had a few complaints - no bedside lights for one and only 1 pillow per person —and a postage stamp size tv.
Plus was that cottage was absolutely spotless (tho an undefrosted fridge meant we couldn’t make ice - tho tray not provided).
Love the concept but it’s so cheaply done that is hardly seems worth $170 a night. Surely a pair of IKEA bedside lamps can’t be a bridge too far? Lighting is appalling.
Like the concept but execution very cheap.

The short of it: Yes, the place was clean. Were the staff friendly? Yes. Did I get what I ordered? No. Did it cost me more money to get what I thought I'd ordered? Yes.

The long of it:
We stayed at Huskisson as my 40th birthday gift. I thought I had booked a lovely colored, multi-room cabin, and instead apparently booked a single room with a formica bathroom in a house overlooking said cabins.

I thought I'd paid a premium price (compared to other places in Huski) for a cabin near the beach. Upon arrival and finding out the listing was very misleading, I opted to pay even more money to actually get a cabin.

Once we unpacked in the cabin and went looking for the welcome pack to find the wifi password, we found there was no information other than a list of things we weren't allowed to do in the cabin, which I found to be very backpacker mentality, and not something I would expect from $185 per night stay. We had to call them for the wifi password.

While the cabin was indeed lovely and very close to the beach, I will never stay here again because even now I feel strongly that I was mislead about what I was paying for. Had I known it was a room in a house I'd have booked elsewhere.

Hi imtoostupidtobookonline, You were not mislead! you booked a room in the house which is correctly advertised. If you press the book now button on what you have selected and you get what you pay for! Read the correct description on the correct room type and you will hopefully book the right room next time!!! Next time read what you are paying for! Regards JOHN

We recently stayed at this so-called "resort" and unfortunately, it fell far short of expectations. If we could give zero or minus stars we would. Despite the hefty price tag of $388 per night, what we got was far from satisfactory:

Misleading Facilities: The property is advertised as a resort, but it was more like a rundown cabin you'd find at a caravan park, devoid of any resort amenities such as a pool or bar.

Uncomfortable Sleeping Arrangements: The double bed was uncomfortably springy, with thin pillows, and the bunk beds for the kids were left unmade, despite the exorbitant price we had to do that ourselves.

Poor Hygiene Standards: The cabin was filthy, with stained and uncomfortable furniture, gritty sand on the floor, and even a squashed dead fly on the lounge upon arrival.

Appalling Customer Service: The staff were shockingly rude and unhelpful, even hanging up on us when we tried to voice our concerns and request a refund. Tried to tell my husband it was due to me raising my voice and them being ‘frightened’ which was unequivocally not true. Providing negative feedback and requesting a refund is more than reasonable when paying close to $800. You only have to look at the owner’s totally unprofessional and rude responses to some of the other one star reviews here to understand where that comes from.

Complete Rip-off: Considering the subpar accommodations and nonexistent resort facilities, the $388 per night price tag felt like a blatant rip-off.

Overall, we would strongly advise against staying at this establishment. It's a shame to see such disregard for customer satisfaction and value for money.

Despite the disappointing experience at the ‘resort’ it's important to note that Huskisson itself is a beautiful destination. We encountered friendly locals and experienced excellent customer service at other establishments in the area. It's disheartening that this particular business doesn't live up to the standards set by the rest of the community. Given that Huskisson relies heavily on tourism, it's concerning that this resort could potentially deter visitors from returning to the area. This establishment's shortcomings do a disservice not only to its guests but also to the vibrant community it's a part of.

We have just returned home from a magnificent stay here. This property should receive 5 stars purely for the location but it outdoes itself with the incredible staff (both in the office and housekeeping). Customer service was second to none.

With the beach and bbqs directly across the road, coffee and playgrounds only a few more steps away and the creek at the end of the street we couldn’t have found a more perfect spot to take our wildlings. We only used our car once, we walked everywhere else.

This is the second time staying here and we will be back again for sure.

My two tips are to take an esky for additional cold storage and have cash in hand for coffee. Emma’s Coffee Spot is among some of the best coffee I’ve had (and I’m a coffee snob).

I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND Huskisson Beach Resort to anyone. Tried to cancel my booking in less than 24 hours. Would be glad to pay a cancellation fee, but they took all my money, saying booking is not adjustable/non refundable. This is terrible experience. Think they should review their cancellation policy.

Clean, new linen, with modern facilities.
A great house to stay in for children as they loved the bunk beds!
Close to the beach and Mooney Mooney creek.
Excellent service with keys, map and carpark.
Aircon and blackout curtains were also a bonus.

I had a very bad experience. I brought my kids with me and I put them to sleep in my bed I asked for no extra bedding or anything at all yet they used my credit card to charge me extra. I cancelled the card then they locked my brother's car in their garage so that he would pay. he paid but they treated us like criminals. it's up to me if I want to bring my kids and get them to share the bed with me. I'm not asking anything extra so they dont hav5a right to bill extra. terrible rude theifs

We, 2 adults and 2 teenage boys, booked this accommodation thinking we had booked a coloured cabin with a little porch out front to have some extra space in what looked like a stunning setting. We were a long way from that. We were actually put in what I will call the red room, as that is what is in the photos online. It is nothing short of a bedroom in a house that is now called a resort. Yes the room has a new bathroom and a very comfortable large bed, but, you can not move in this tiny space. Yes, there is a toaster, kettle and microwave. There is no where to do dishes, you have to use a communal laundry to do that. There is 4 coffee cups and side plates plus 4 teaspoons supplied, 4 glasses and 4 wine glasses in the bar fridge in the room. If you make toast, good luck finding a knife, if your lucky there will be one in the cupboard in the laundry, same with bowls and dinner plates, spoons and forks. Plan to eat out . Yes, there is a bbq area, but its in the car park. I don't have any issues with making a bed as others have mentioned. But I do have an issue in feeling totally robbed. We were booked in for 2 nights, we lasted 24 hours, we drove home, 9 hours straight as we just couldn't stand the thought of going through another experience like this. Yes, the beach is close, I planned on taking photos but we packed up and left so quickly I never did. And to add to the insult tradesman started working with a circular saw at 7.15 am 1 foot from our beds, there was someone banging away in the garage all day and none of that is acceptable when you are on holiday. I had read precious review's and was uncomfortable with the response from 'the manager ' who seems very unprofessional and just plain greedy now that we have experienced the same thing. So just be aware, you may be paying for a hostel room in the grey house and have no space, amenities or privacy. When your expecting a little coloured cabin which is nothing special but not a dungeon. We have traveled the world and thought we would invest in our own country but this has left a very sour taste. And I'm intrigued to see a response and what name I'll be called after reading previous negative reviews.
