Fantastic place, great location, good value for money. The staff were very friendly and it was walking distance from everything Kangaroo Valley has to offer (including the pub across the road) and a short drive from many amazing sights in the area.

Arrived in Kangaroo Valley for a family wedding. Family had booked out many rooms at the hotel. We were placed in a room that didn't have enough beds for all guests so we requested a larger room which was organized for us. Room was dirty and had a musky smell. At check out the following morning we were told to...

Came into Kangaroo Valley late in the afternoon looking for somewhere to stay. The lovely people in the post office directed us to the Pioneer Motel a couple of doors away, almost no one staying on a Thursday night but apparently it can be booked out on weekends. Our room was large, clean and well appointed. The only problem with our...

Let's be clear- this was quite adequate for a night's sleep. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. However the swallow inhabited car park and unkempt grounds and a general air of neglect did the outside no favours while various minor issues with bathroom fittings reflected a lack of attention. Looks like a place on the brink to me.

Positioned right in the middle of town with easy walking distance to all the shops in the village. Clean and tidy rooms, large with a kitchenette, dining table and lounge. Off street Parking underneath the building. Helpful owners/staff. Lovely stay in a beautiful location. No breakfast but that wasn't an issue as a great place right next door serviced a...

During a work assignment in July we spent one night at the Pioneer Motel Kangaroo Valley, we did not have a booking. On walking in we were warmly welcomed and accommodated with a lovely spacious room which was clean. We arrived late and left early. The motel is perfectly situated in the middle of the little town. Would certainly return.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will certainly be returning. I can not fault this place for position, the room we had #9 was wonderful, loved having a table and a mini kitchen, the lounge was comfortable, the a/c was a challenge and would not heat, but after going to reception, we had a lovely young man come and re-...

Never, ever, ever again. This place forgot to service our room, forgot to change the wet towels. When I asked why, the poor excuse from the receptionist was, "I knocked on your door and there was no answer". How could we answer when we were out for the day. The also did not want to help or offer an apology....

We (4 friends) stayed 1 night at this motel, rooms 3 & 4. Positives are: Nicely decorated & clean, underground parking, mini kitchen with table & 4 chairs, a sofa, flat screen TV, air/con, electric blankets, handy to many restaurants & the hotel is directly across the road. Only negative the pillows have had their use by date, very hard...

“rooms on the ground floor are a good idea if you have heavy luggage - but not a huge problem”

“We had room nine, but I don't think you could choose a bad room. It was too cold to want to swim, the pool is a good size. Choose a ground floor room for no stairs you can dodge stairs all the way to your room, walk straight up the down ramp and then a ramp again up to the rooms, terrific if stairs are an issue. Underground parking”
