Myself and my 6 year old daughter stayed at Big Bell farm for 2 nights. We could have stayed a week. Bruno the owner welcomed us early to check in which was a bonus.
He was so friendly and warm and is a grandpa, so he and my daughter got on well. She followed him around listening to his every word. He even answered ALL her farm animal questions and she loved the interaction with him. So if you have a talkative child with farm interest Bruno is your man.
The farm itself is really close to shops and petrol. The cabins are clean and warm with everything you need. They have a little verandah. You can sit in the sun and watch your children play on the slide or swing or put a blanket down on the grass and have a picnic. There are some bikes in the shed and you can ride those around too. We also played old school ring toss which was a lot of fun from the shed games areas.
The property is lovely to walk around. We walked around and climbed trees both in the paddock and in the goat enclosure. Pulled out fire weed for Bruno, which is not good for the animals and visited the creek dwn the hill.
The animals were excellent! 2 horses. Gunner was our favourite. My daughter had a ride too. Cows to feed. Goats to feed and pat were the highlight. My daughter was lucky enough to be there for a 3 day old kid. She cuddled it every day and she will never forget it.
Enjoyed every minute of our stay. Highly recommend it and can’t wait to go back. Thanks Bruno

My family and I have stayed here 4 times over the Christmas Period . Bruno and wife Elizabeth are welcoming and friendly. There are 3 separate homes on the property and plenty of space to put caravans. There are goats and horses to pat and cows to look at. The view is magnificent. Homes/cabins are clean, tidy and supply everything you need except food. BBQ area and outside tables. There is a pool to share, fuzeball, basketball hoop and various bikes to borrow. Minutes drive to Kangaroo Valley shops and river to swim in.

The place is lovely. If possible ask for Cottage 1. That has the best view.
The kids just love this place with so many animals to feed and so many fruits to pick.
If you visit with friends, you can also plan a barbeque.
The night sky is just mind blowing. You can see the milky way clearly on a clear night. Do carry your telescope if you can to watch all the planets.

Disappointments one after the other. There weren't that many animals in such a big lot of land. Saw a few cows and goats. The BBQ area was so dirty that on one dared use. Wanted to set a camp fire but the woods provided were so damp. Had all the food sticked to the non-stick pan. Pillows were like flat sheets. Essentials didn't even include bathroom toiletries therefore no shower during our stay. Luckily on 1 night! It's not a budget stay after all when you add up rates plus fees for cleaning, linen and towels.
A plus for the cabin cleaniness and adequate heating on cold wintry night.

Big Bell Farm is great place to be with the family or friends. we have been here number of times since past 2 years and had a wonderful experience in every trip!
Cabin is nice and comfortable, with a proper kitchen. We enjoyed the BBQ with music wine and catching up with friends. Being a birdwatcher and Photographer, I took a stroll in the farm and few trails nearby.
In short this place is simple, but has everything you need. Bruno is awesome host! so we loved being there and definitely be back again.

The property is big & spacious with beautiful views. The owners are the best part as they’re so accommodating, friendly & good with children. Our boys loved feeding the animals with Bruno & can’t wait to go back!

We are regulars now at Big Bell Farm. The cabin accommodation is adequate without being palatial, and Bruno and Elizabeth are the friendliest most accommodating hosts you will find. But the real selling point is the wealth of activities available on the farm or close by. The kids can feed the goats, ride the horse, go on the flying fox (adults too), walk down by the river or just get lost in their imagination in the wide open spaces. There's a campfire area for the evening too. The surrounding area also offers walks, waterfalls and lakes and the local town has plenty of amenities, eateries and coffee shops. Surf beaches are only a short drive too.

We had a fantastic few days at Big Bell Farm. The baby goats were so cute and kept our 6 year old entertained. By the end of the trip she stated "I need a goat!". The tree swing was a hit with our 4 year old. Bruno is a wonderful host and the girls also enjoyed a horse ride and seeing a calf being hand fed.

We came across The Big Bell Farm because we were looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway from Sydney. The farm has three cabins grouped together away from the main house. They are each surrounded and separated by plants, flowers and a pond. The other two cabins were booked out while we were there, but we never felt that the tranquility was ruined by this. Everyone is basically there to chill out and enjoy the quiet surrounds.

We had a cabin for two people, double bed (cabin 2). I would say this is by far the best cabin for views as you can sit on the verandah and have uninterrupted views of the farm and mountains. There are also miniature goats, cows and a horse on the farm. There are pushbikes on the farm too, if you are feeling energetic.

The cabin is basic but clean. The bed was comfortable and linen and towels can be supplied for a small fee if you want. Tea, coffee, sugar, kettle, microwave, DVD player and TV are also there.

The farm is meant to be carbon neutral, which is also pleasing. it runs on rainwater and appears to recycle waste water. The farm is also big enough that the owner allows the paddocks to recuperate sufficiently before moving his animals around. Its nice to see a farmer who appears to have some sense. The paddocks are just lush.

We will definitely return to The Big Bell Farm. I have never stayed somewhere that is so peaceful and has such magnificent views. We paid $110 per night. As far as farm stays go in Kangaroo Valley, this is a really good price.

We found that we were out most of the time, there are plenty of drives and sights around Kangaroo Valley. Try the canoeing / kayaking. Drive out to Robertson, you can spend a day just browsing the shops and cafes at Kangaroo Valley. Hire a bike, bush walk, there are several Falls in the area too.

My partner & I absolutely LOVED our stay at Big Bell Farm! We both work and study and it often gets quite hard to have a nice/relaxing weekend away, but Bruno at Big Bell Farm made that absolutely possible! The atmosphere of staying in cottages among the tree's and farm animals is a breathtaking way to spend your weekend, make sure to adventure across the paddocks full of cattle and find the river! It is a peaceful place to sit and enjoy a glass of wine as the sun goes down! Therefore, I highly advise you to make the scenic trip into Kangaroo Valley and be sure to stay at Big Bell Farm!
