Powered Camping Site.
For some reason, the bathrooms are on the other side of the park and appear to be redone public toilets. They were however kept clean, which is more important.
The walk would make less mobile people struggle, as there is also a slight decline/incline.
Powered camping sites could have their astroturf levelled and replaced, as ours had a large stump in it.
Driveway certainly needs repair.
Powered sites do not have any lookout and look directly at a fence.
When we stay again, we will book an unpowered site, closer to the toilets, seems like the park is more suited to people wanting to use the cabins.
Friendly staff, and easy after hours check in process.

Property's Favourite Review
We stayed in twin 2BR cabins with friends. Kids loved the bunk beds; Queen bed was comfy but could do with a bigger variety of pillows, most were very high. Lots of blankets provided, which was great. Location is good but a slightly further walk from town if you don't have a car (although there is a grocery store 1 minute walk away). The cabins facing the main road can also be a little noisy, but overall it wasn't so bad that it ruined our sleep or anything. Playground equipment could really do with an upgrade. Staff were friendly. Overall, great value, we enjoyed our stay.

The cabin we stayed in was just so cosy, my husband and I just loved the experience. There were wombats and kangaroos, we had never seen those animals before. The cabin was fresh and unique in colour as some were blue, purple and yellow :) We even got to pat some chooks!

As we arrived at the campground it was 4pm, the campground reception should be open until 6pm! There was a sign that said we can call or use the calling button next to the door - so we did. After about 10 times ringing and calling, someone was looking out of the door in the reception and hided again. So we tried for another 3 times to call and finally someone answered. It was the lady from the reception, who was looking out before. We had the feeling she really didn't want to work and give us a place for camping! After we were inside the reception, she put the closed sign on the door, but it was not 6pm! The service is really bad and we have never experienced something like this! Luckily the campground is nice and clean, otherwise we wouldn't have something good to say.

Stayed a couple of nights here in July 2020, would not return.
No hot water in the kitchen, so to wash your dishes you needed to boil the kettle.
Shower floors were extremely muddy and dirty (I understand it was raining but they needed to be wiped over a bit more regularly.
There was also no soap dispenser/soap in the ladies toilet which is unacceptable particularly with covid around.
A nice picturesque campsite by the river but the amenities were the worst we have stayed in by far. Either reduce the price and have customers expect less or clean amenities more.

Thanks Annabel for the review, Sorry there was no hot water in the BBQ area to wash your dishers. Unfortunately there is no quick fix for the hotwater. Our camping is more relaxed with bush settings and getting back to nature with bushy gardens etc Hope you could make use of the sanitiser stations within the park. Would of been nice for you to visit without the rain, with all works been done in the park with the new playground things are a bit more muddy then usual. Kind Regards Management

I came to stay a couple of nights with my husband in a cabin. We got to the location and it was extremely cute and beautiful! Our cabin was very clean and we had a nice view of the basketball court area. The town wasn’t a very long walk away and was so cute 😊 We also did some adventuring along the river! My husband and I absolutely loved our time at Kangaroo Valley and will definitely be coming again!

We checked in at Kangaroo Valley Holiday Park with our group of friends. All the staff were lovely and friendly. The office lady let us have an early check-in and late check out, have more people on our camp site and cars. The amenities were great and my children loved the animals and play ground.

To kcarnell1, Unfortunately we do not remember this situation. If we had turned you away it would be due to our park being fully booked or we didn't have accommodation suitable. We also have minimum stay's in place during peak periods. We are a small park and our accommodation does book out quickly over weekends and holidays. If you had made a booking prior we are able to arrange a late check in after closing hours. Regards Jacqui Manager

Came in the peak season in January but the entire park was deserted like a ghost town.
We were told that the minimum stay was 3 nights although we only wanted 2. We booked for 3 as we didn't know we had any other options.
The staff was uninterested indeed. When we called from Sydney, the manager told us they only wish to hold our booking for 5 minutes as if the place was almost full. When we got here our cabin had many issues. Not many cabins were occupied.
We were moved to another cabin as the tv and coffee machine were not working.
The cabin we were moved also to had issues with its R/C air-con. It wasn't cold enough. It was 38 degree hot and the cabin was like an oven.
We noticed at the end of our 3 day stay, the first room we vacated was not even cleaned (that cabin was next to the 2nd cabin we moved to). The key was still in the door (we were told to left there) and the towel was on the railing under verandah, except it ended on the floor 2 days later.
On the 2nd day, we requested another room for our family who were camping nearby. Their tent was broken due to strong wind and bad weather. The manager would not give us an additional room for our family we asked for (1 adult and 4 children)- even though another part of family has already booked 3 nights here. Because the additional night was the last mushy we need, the manage rejected us and told us that 'the council' does not approve less than 2 nights booking.
We felt we were lied to as the managers originally made us book for 3 nights when we asked for 2 nights. The reason was minimum booking was 3 nights.
It was an inconsistent!
I feel the management team was either lazy or not interested in making any efforts to accommodate the customers' needs.
We also couldn't understand that the whole park was so deserted. There was only 2-3 cars outside the cabins. All of the rest were completely 'empty' - in the middle of summer school holiday (3rd week January)!
There was camping ground too. Only one tent was seen in the entire complex - no other tent existed.
There are basic kids playground but deserted.
Small BBQ areas but deserted.
The whole place is deserted like a 'ghost town'.
The garden is untidy with many weeds, dry dead plants, lot of long-term built up debris, dead branches and leaves.
The park does kayak hire as well but the condition of kayak was old and dirty. There were not many for hire either.
There should be some obvious reasons that this place is so dead, empty, dark and lack of soul - almost sad.
The lady at the front desk (not the manager as she couldn't tell us much when questions asked) told us the park belongs to the council and there were strict rules! If that was the case, the council should be finding out why the place hasn't attracted many customers. Why the place is so quiet and lack of services
We ended up booking other nights at the Glenmack Park Kangaroo Valley for our family - it is another world - absolutely amazing. Many people with lots of fun, clean and GREAT SERVICES.
In no way we will come back to Kangaroo Valley Tourist Park!!!!!!
We recommend you investigate before making any bookings.

Hi howaaaaaa, Most people like our park as we are not so big and its a quiet spot. Peak season in our park is not normally January but usually spring and Autumn. These are the nicer times in Kangaroo Valley. After trying to assist you in many ways it was evident we could not please you. Regards Manager

arrived late at night to find our campsite was located on a narrow 3metre stretch with roads either side, very dangerous & a lot of rock underneath.. we took it upon ourselves to relocate across the road to a safer grassed area.
The following morning we went to see the park guy, respectfully let him know our situation he was very unfriendly & unhelpful, barely spoke & didn't give us his eyes; only asked where are now..
park landscape in serious need of TLC, like a storm went through & never got cleaned up, chicken poop across footpaths, bathroom facilities get hosed clean but still smell dirty.
We wouldn't stay here again.
River was low due to no rain & smelt like sewerage.
We did the kayak trip 6kms (2hrs) down river, nice enough but had to get out a lot to pull across the rocks, should be fantastic after a lot of rain & water levels rise.
We found a beautiful Tourist park on the other side of town, past the pub, big inground pool & owners clearly take pride in what they provide, sorry we chose the wrong park.

Dear Ferris, At the time of your stay, our park was very busy and we hadn't had any rain for months. Sorry you did not like the site you were allocated. It was between a footpath and road (campsite access road) not two roads. Ian was trying to find out which area you had moved to, he was not trying to be unfriendly or unhelpful, as you had moved to a spare piece of grass which was not a campsite we needed this information for our system. All our sites were fully booked so we couldn't allocate another site. The water level of the river is obviously out of our control, sorry you didn't enjoy the river, this is the highlight of most peoples stay. Our park is in a bush setting and we pride ourselves on the state of our park. It is not your normal built up park, our park makes you feel like your bush camping while still having the luxuries of the facilities. We only receive great comments on the facilities and how clean they are. During your stay they were scrubbed and hosed as per our normal procedure. We have the animals for the children, they love the animals. Sorry there was some chicken poo on the path. Regards Jacqui Manager
