Sensational food and great service! The restaurant is a recent addition to this beautiful historic Inn. We also had a fascinating tour of the cellars with it's original 1830s kitchen, inside well and convict cells.

Attended a work dinner at the restaurant. Loved the relaxed atmosphere of the building and the historical elements on display. We were given a mini tour of cellars before the meal as well. Food was amazing all 3 courses. Friendly service and there was even a young man playing the harp as we dined!

When we first arrived at the Fitzroy Inn on the eve of our Nephew's wedding we were surprised by the very low key approach from the management and staff. However, we realised fairly quickly that our wedding group had taken over the hotel for the weekend and that we were to treat this as more of a country house rather...

We spent 2 nights at Fitzroy Inn - Christmas Eve and Christmas night. Our booking had been a bit fiddly to organise because it was for our extended family and involved finding accommodation for us, our daughters and their husbands and 6 grandchildren. Simone was very efficient and helpful in suggesting the most appropriate rooms for each family and in...

We revisited the Fitzroy Inn last night as guests at the restaurant and had a lovely experience. The food was great, my husband had the steak and it was served exactly as he wanted - rare to medium and he could have used a butter knife to cut it. I had the salmon which delicious - particularly the skin which...

I was part of a larger group with a limited selection menu. This is not the best position from which to judge a restaurant as it usually means corners have been cut somewhere. BUT not today at the Fitzroy Inn, I was well pleased with my visit. People: Welcoming, professional and friendly. Staff seemed genuinely interested in their guests. Even...

Stayed 2 nights mid October on a deal. Supposed to have drinks and nibblies included - didn't happen. Had to ask for the fire to be lit on the 2nd night as it wasn't done on 1st night. When we enquired as to why it wasn't lit the first night were told that we could have done it ourselves -...

Took 20 minutes to serve the whole party of 40 ish dried beef wellington and fried chicken. ( Please don't tell me it was supposed to be duck confit..) Dessert consisted of sticky date pudding or a mousse/jelly type mould. $ 60 per person....The best part was asking the waitress for a teaspoon, to help my child eat dessert, with...

Our first time here, not sure why as we are local. So impressive from the beginning to end. The atmosphere is lovely, we had a brilliant harpist entertaining us all evening. Local wines are on offer, the menu divine and the service excellent! Lovely open fire, beautifully decorated dining area & surrounds.

A place of old charm dating back to the early 1800's, wonderful and warming atmosphere with hidden nocks and rooms with a very relaxed feel. The room tastefully decorated, although older style with all the modern facilities. We stayed in one of the attic rooms in the front of the building, wooden ceiling, even creaking floorboards all added to the...
