We stayed here and found it ok but it is not suited for a family. Walls were paper thin and didn't sleep much due to people in other rooms making noise and playing around all night. This place would suit young groups. The location and staff were great. Had car parking for guests also which is apparently rare for Thredbo....

We staying in room 9 with the window overlooking the car park/ road... Not ideal. The breakfast place has nice views of Thredbo ski resort and very dated furniture. Service is basic, the staff is friendly and the food is average. We had the same breakfast offer for 4 days ( English bfast) and they wanted to charge us for...

Decent place! Obviously you are paying $$ in winter season! But this place is actually better prices then most and the rooms are pretty spacious with a nice view of the mountain! But the stairs after a long day skiing\boarding are a killer! Decent experience.

We booked this accommodation when there was a mix up with our stay. They seem to be one of the few places that will take a single night if you need it. The room was basic but clean. The guest area was spacious with lots of games, toys for the little ones and DVDs. They provide an excellent hot breakfast...

Booked Winterhaus accommodation through wotif for one adult and three kids at short notice, based on great snow conditions. Based on the price, the accommodation was good, with two single beds and a ensuite in one room, and one set of bunks beds on another room. The bunk room had a bathroom directly across the hall. Both bedrooms were clean,...

Overall it's not a bad place to stay for the price tag. The rooms are small and clean but the beds are large. We were in rm 7 and had a fridge. Views over the mountain are uninterrupted. There is an honesty "bar" that has cool drink only and it would be good if they turned the fridge on so...

My family and I stayed here for 3 nights for a bit of spring skiing. It was easy to find and I recommend reserving a parking space at the top on alpine way but will set you back $15 a day. We are happy we did this as there is ALOT of stairs in the front of the lodge. It...

We enjoyed a great long weekend stay at the Winterhaus lodge. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the room was warm and comfortable. We stayed in a family room with own bathroom and great views of the mountain. I didn't mind that there was no cooking facilities because I don't really fancy cooking on holidays anyway, but a bar...

I don't understand the bad reviews... this place is fantastic value for money, is friendly, comfortable and is in a decent location. People obviously haven't stayed elsewhere and compared it with anything else. I've stayed at the Winterhaus now for 2 years in a row (and planning this year too) during snow season and yes its not a luxury hotel...

Maybe not young child friendly though ( lots n lots of stairs )...

“Room 10 (family) has lovely mountain views. Watch the flare run and fireworks from the balcony off the main lounge area.”

“Pay a little more for a room. The cheaper rooms are shared bathrooms and that's fine but the rooms can be small. Last time we got the room on the ground floor at the front (mountainside) of the building and it was roomy and perfect (had 3 single beds but only needed 2).”
