Nigel the host was warm and friendly, but the room was tiny for the price and the included breakfast very basic. The whole building is worn and tired, threadbare rugs on stairs etc and needs a serious facelift. The free WiFi was basic to non-existent. I understand that Thredbo is a ski resort, but the out-of-season price was still outrageous...

We stayed at the Alpenhorn last weekend and loved it so much we decided to stay an extra night. We were upgraded upon arrival to a room more suitable for our family of three. Early check in was no problem, as was late check out. Nigel and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room and common areas were...

Lukewarm showers Every room can be entered with the code 1234* (very secure) Hopeless staff in kitchen. You may be lucky enough to get a coffee but I doubt you'll get a cup. Room smelt like some one just pushed out a big poo upon entry. I'm not kidding! No lock on external doors (a robbers paradise) It's kind of...

Dear Paul B. Thank you for the review of your recent stay at our Lodge. Of course, I am very disappointed to read that your experience was very unfavourable and differs somewhat considerably from our guests who regularly rate us highly and generally very positively. I would personally appreciate it if you could contact me directly here at the Lodge...

I come to Alpenhorn every year with a big group and am always just so impressed with every factor of our stay. The rooms are generous and spotlessly clean, the food always plentiful and generous in portion. And of course with just a short walk to everything Alpenhorn is a far more user friendly option than Jindabyne. However the most...

Not great value even for Threbo where pretty much everything is overpriced for what you get. Our room at $500 a night was smaller than any other room we've stayed in over the years we've been skiing Perisher and Thredbo. There was barely room for the 2 of us let along our luggage. Service was not great. Kitchen staff were...

Dear Iloydois Thank you for your recent review of your holiday with us, although not as favourable as we normally receive, it is appreciated that you have taken the time to share some aspects of your experience. I do agree that Thredbo is considered pricey for accommodation, however this is of course based largely on the limited winter season that...

We had a lovely weekend stay at the Alpenhorn Lodge. Nigel was friendly and very helpful. The rooms are simple, but clean and very warm and cosy. The shared areas were lovely to meet other visitors to Thredbo.Brekkie was included both mornings for our 2 night stay and there was an excellent selection, our waitress was very helpful and nothing...
