Reasonably priced kayaking on a beautiful lake. I have gone before but my boyfriend hadn't. They don't give you any lessons on kayaking but the lake is calm so you are able to figure it out without worrying. They give you whistles incase you run into any trouble.

My wife and I were looking forward to a great weekend in Jim Thorpe and the recent snow presented us with an opportunity to do some cross-country skiing. We went to the Mauch Chunk Lake Park (which is several miles west of Jim Thorpe) and skied along the Switchback Trail, which runs from near the main Park visitor's center right...

Mauch Chunk Lake Park is an ideal camping experience. The sites are spacious, well kept and beautiful. Cabins are available but the lake front tent sites are my choice! There is no water or electric hook up but fill water, bath and dish washing facilities are available at the bathhouse. The accessibility for kayaking, fishing, mountain biking and hiking cannot...

My fiance and I go to the Jim Thorpe Fall Festival every year and this year we decided to make a little detour to this park. We had never been here before and boy, is that a shame. I was stunned by the beauty of this park. The lake is serene and picturesque, especially with the fall foliage as a...

We thoroughly enjoyed the hiking trails that originated at this park. The switchback trail was easy to walk. The park staff were friendly and helpful. They have a boat launch area and canoes and kayaks are available for rental. Campsites are also available.

My husband's family reunion has taken place here for years. The children and adults alike enjoy the lake for swimming. The beach is pristine. The pavilions are very well equipped with range, refrigerator and sinks.

MY ADVICE -avoid the lake! So I was recommend this beach lake as I'm new to PA and desperate to find places to swim. I heard great things but when I got there it was small.. and I mean it was all very small if the beach had been open and sunny it must be a nightmare there. The picnic area...

Did a brief, 2 night getaway to MCLP last week with family. We had a really great time. Clean, affordable, and well-run, complete with hiking trails, beach-on-the-lake, boat rentals, and clean cabin (or tent) camp sites. We hiked and enjoyed swimming in the clean, refreshing lake. It wasn't very crowded, and so enjoyed leisurely family time around the fire both...
