I should have known. The rate was significantly lower than others, even for the lack of proximity to skiing. Everything is quite old and used. They start early and loud with cleaning and repairs, and it may double as temporary housing for some.
When I say 25 years, I'm being kind. They were other more updated facilities Holiday Inn Express, Comfort Inn, Split Rock Resort too- but I thought at double or triple the price why pay that? Next time-I will. You should too.
Room was clean. They have that going for them.

We really had mixed feeling about this place. We stayed one night extending our trip from another area destination. We booked through a 3rd party site. Booked family suite and was told it was unavailable when we arrived. They apologized and gave us two connecting rooms. Several sites said the room was available including their own. One room was a king with sofa bed and one was two queens. King had a fridge and microwave, queen had neither. No frills bathroom but clean. Rooms were surface clean but in need to repair, drawers broken, trash in drawers, old toy under bed, everything well worn. Hallways need a vacuming. Pool area looked nice though we did not go in. Lounge was busy and did have entertainment while we were there though we did not partake. Gameroom was nice addition for kids but saw left sitting on a table ment careful supervision needed. Breakfast was a joke waffles, bagels, pancakes all frozen and just sitting in case with a loaf of bread. Yougurt or freshfruit would be an easy simple update, Cereal and eggs and potatoes oddly both fresh. However all the staff we encountered were helpful and friendly. Overall we didn't feel like we hated and wanted to leave but wasn't good either. Has an old world Poconos charm with lot of potential, but they need serious updates and better execution on things like room consistancy and breakfast.

Dirty.
Yes, this place needs a serious remodel, but I have been in other hotels that have needed remodeling that were at least clean. Either this hotel is too big for saving, or the owners have just given up. Out of 160 rooms maybe 8, and that’s a big maybe, were occupied. I understand you can’t pay for remodels if there is no money is coming in, but cleanliness is cheap and paint is too. The doors are chewed up at the bottoms, the walls are banged up and pock marked and the furniture (not including the bed) is well beyond its prime. The windowsills were filled with dead bugs and dirt, the corners of the rooms had not been vacuumed, there were splashes of who knows what on the walls and it’s evident that there is hard water staining on all the bathroom fixtures. Minor maintenance issues such as the sink drain pop-up was missing, a lightbulb was out over the bathroom sink I get, but a whole piece of trim molding was missing from one wall of the room…
At one point the hotel manager busted into my room as I was in there. I just happened to be changing and was not completely dressed. Thank goodness I had the forethought to engage the security lock on the door as I entered the room that evening, because there was no knock or warning from that guy. I tracked him down at the front desk later, and he told me that he was not aware that there were people even staying on that floor. Uhh, what?!
I didn’t give this place 1 star, because there were some minimal pluses, but not enough to ever warrant a stay there in the future.
1) the bedding was clean and appeared to be new.
2) it was quiet…because no one was staying there, and my colleague and I appeared to be the only ones on the floor.

received a charge on my credit card dec 2020 from the resort. called "customer service" rep Fred who said he couldn't find my name or credit card number on file and asked to call me back. i emailed him a picture of my statement charge. he emailed me back that auditors were in at the end of november and found a bunch of unsettled credit card batches from stays in FEBRUARY 2019 (almost 2 years prior to the charge). without so much as a telephone call, email, voicemail, or letter explaining the error found, a charge appeared on my credit card. called and they stated there was nothing they were going to correct on their end and to just dispute it with my credit card company. well, not only am i disputing it, i am making sure people know your awful business practices

We booked a family suite and a room with 2 queens beds, first thing the place smells. as we walked to our rooms the hallways smell badly, dirty windows all over. the family suite was awful, had sheets from 18 century, smelled bad, AC didn't work the way it should, not enough towels or sheet, room didn't feel clean at all, we had to turn the AC on because it was off, it's a room for up to 6 people and had no extra blankets and only 2 towels and 1 extra pillow. the key to the upper room didn't work, we had it changed 2 times then they told us only the master key works on the upstairs room which is on the 4th floor.

the other single room double bed, Nasty. There seems to be stains which looked like blood on the wall and on the lamp inside and out of the lamp, Sheets dirty and it smells. we tried another room and it was worse, Sheets had stains, really bad. it seems like lemonade or urine.

the Gym, not a gym, one of the exit signs had no cover so you really can't tell its an exit. I mean the place is filthy not recommendable to anyone who wants a decent place.

they did accommodate us trying to change our room and unfornately the rooms was worst. we cancelled the room right there and they did give us a refund, no issues there.
Please see pics.

This place is absolutely gross and disgusting. First off the bathrooms are COMPLETELY gross and i’m scared to even touch the counters. The stairways smell like sweaty people and there are weird creeps. The pool was pretty decent but the entrance people are so rude. They made rude remarks to my brother (with autism and a disability). They won’t even let him sit down anywhere and the lobby chairs smell like feet. Carpets smell like sewer water and the outside were old men smoking. The soap had hair in it and they don’t even provide towels. The service is completely terrible at their job. My sister called to get their room cleaned because there was stains all over the walls and they didn’t even come up. The workers there didn’t even care at all. The pillows have mold in it and the water is dirty. The tv doesn’t even work at all it leaves me on a loading screen for about an hour or 2. There are so many more problems with this hotel and i would definitely not recommend. 0/5.

Let's start with how when we went up to our room the door was propped open, the shower curtain missing, furniture moved around, ac barely blowing, and beer bottles on the floor. Move onto later that night music till all late hours then when the music stopped someone tried to break into our hotel room and actually got the door opened that was deadbolt locked and top latch locked. if it weren't for the top latch the people would've been in our room. then loud music starting at 7:30 AM combined with no water. Made management aware of the attempt to break in at around 10:45 AM. Went downstairs again at 4 PM ish to complain about the sink only having hot water, the tv not getting half the channels it's supposed to and the water going on and off and they hadn't even checked the cameras yet. needless to say, I checked out early. The whole place smelled and nothing worked.

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Hotel and rooms are outdated. The pictures must be from 20yrs ago. Never received room service despite putting the tag outside of the door. Nothing to do onsite besides bbq, and the grills were so broken down you could barely use them. Only one umbrella on the entire outside to use by your table. Hotel restroom were pure disgusting. I went to the restroom in the lobby and not only did it smell like urine, but the above ceiling had a huge hole in it. All outside garbages were full and had garbage overflowing on the ground. Towels in the room were dingy and had holes. Hair in the shower on the wall. Don’t know why it’s called a resort when there’s NOTHING to do there. NOTHING. We tried to make the best of it but I couldn’t wait to check out. Please DON’T Stay here.

If you can sum this place up in one word it is CRAP!

Seriously, there is garbage EVERYWHERE, all over the property! The décor is from the 70's and the place smells like it hasn't been cleaned since then! The room smelled like cigarettes and when we were shown another room housekeeping had to make it up real quick and it was just as bad. The bar/restaurant wasn't open on the weekend we were about to stay, the pool was closed and the elevators are broken.

We checked in and checked out, don't even bother, this place is worse than a cheap motel it's a LOWTEL

We took a chance on this place even after reading the reviews. The property and hotel are large and I can see what this hotel used to be. It needs updating, however, I have no problem with old fixtures and furniture. The room itself is spacious and clean. The main problem with the smell. We were on the third floor and it smelled of cigarette smoke everywhere. When we arrived, our room door was open and we didn't realize how bad the smell was until we returned later that night for bed and the door had been shut for 3-4 hours. Based on this, we will not return. In addition, note that the pool is a great size but not useable in the winter because the room is not heated. For the price/location, not a deal breaker but the smell is.

I can't say about _all_ rooms, but ours had both -- small, clean, and functional. If it's important to you, check the room description when booking, and/or call the hotel to check -- I found the staff friendly and willing to help.

I don't recall seeing them. I would refer to the front office to see if maybe some areas do. The hotel looks deceivingly smaller than it is.
